Taylor Swift And Fiancé Travis Kelce Had One Fear That Almost Ruined Their Engagement Announcement

Taylor Swift Travis Kelce Birthday

Taylor Swift and her new fiancé, Travis Kelce, officially announced their engagement to the world two weeks after the proposal took place.

The pop diva shared the happy news on her official Instagram page, accompanied by a caption that read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

The short, sweet, and perky message was accompanied by several photos from the day the wedding proposal took place. In one photo, Swift, in a summer dress, grins as the NFL star hugs her.

Another shows Taylor displaying her large, vintage-inspired ring. The announcement quickly went viral, earning over 30 million likes and being celebrated as the story of the year.

Insiders told The Daily Mail and PEOPLE Magazine that Kelce asked Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, for permission to marry her.

He agreed. Kelce had worked on the engagement ring for months to match Taylor’s personality and charisma.

The custom ring by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry features a vintage-inspired diamond valued at up to $1 million.

The proposal took place at Kelce’s home in Leawood, Kansas, which he transformed into a lush, enchanted garden.

He chose floral arrangements with over 2,000 flowers — roses, peonies, hydrangeas, delphinium, willow, and ivy — to reference her music.

Kelce picked the date and proposed in a setting reminiscent of Swift’s Lover photoshoot.

According to Kelce’s dad, the couple got engaged two weeks before the announcement, choosing to keep it private to savor the moment.

In an interview with News 5 Cleveland, Ed Kelce said, “When you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you, you could do it anywhere that makes it special.”

Some believe Taylor Swift waited to share the engagement because she feared unpredictable reactions that could distract from their special news.

Swift is known to have long-running feuds, through no fault of her own, with Kanye West and Donald Trump. She worried they might overshadow her milestone.

Fortunately, neither did. West stayed silent, while Trump offered a surprisingly positive comment.

During a Cabinet meeting at the White House, the same day the news broke, Trump said to a reporter: “Well, I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player, he’s a great guy, and I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”

The couple felt vindicated as their engagement remained joyful and free of drama. Fans could not be happier for them.
