Prince William has reportedly decided to address concerns held by some members of the British public regarding himself and his wife, Kate Middleton, following a series of negative press reports that have occurred over the past few months.
The issues began with a scandalous summer trip on a billionaire’s yacht in the Greek islands. The drama continued with their confirmed move to the multimillion-dollar mansion, Forest Lodge, a decision that has irked some British taxpayers and infuriated the many locals who have been evicted or no longer have access to the parks near the royal mansion.
Prince Harry’s Showmanship
To top it all off, Prince Harry recently traveled to the UK, where he met with his father, King Charles III, for the first time in 18 months.
The pair had a sit-down at Windsor Castle. Reports surfaced via The Daily Mail and The Daily Beast claiming that Prince William, the heir to the throne, felt the urge to compete with Prince Harry.
This was allegedly done by holding more events while Harry was in the UK, making more appearances, and interacting more with the British people to show who is the real “Royal Star.” It was claimed that Prince William made these efforts to reassure King Charles that he “got this job.” This is why his wife, Kate Middleton, also crammed more than a dozen engagements into a week, something rarely done by the couple.
Prince William’s Final Word
In an official statement, Prince William explained that he has no time for pettiness or competition with Prince Harry. He reminded the world that he is the Future King, and his schedule is prepared months, if not years, in advance for security purposes.
Express revealed: “And while William’s engagements had not been publicly announced in advance, it’s folly to think that Kensington Palace quickly dreamed up some visits at short notice in a bid to overshadow the Sussex show. I’m told by a well-placed source that these visits have been long-planned and in no way were things altered due to other things happening this week”.
He asserted that he has no need to compete because he has already won the game: the Throne and the monarchy.
Kensington Palace (Prince William’s office) also moved to shut down the misinterpretation that because Prince Harry was granted 55 minutes with the King, a “war” was waging between His Majesty and his heir.
The Palace emphasized the stability of the core royal partnership, stating: “As last week’s State Visit clearly demonstrated, the power and impact of the modern monarchy lies in the unshakeable bond between The King and the Prince of Wales, supported by other working members of the family.”
