John Travolta has appeared in a new Super Bowl commercial, dancing in the garden with his daughter, Ella Travolta, in an advert for Scotts & Miracle-Gro.
The 66-year-old Grease actor recreated some of his famous moves from the 1978 blockbuster, where he played Danny Zuko alongside Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson.
The ad was released by Scotts & Miracle-Gro on Tuesday, days before Super Bowl LV kicks off on Sunday, February 7th.
John Travolta appears in the ad with his 20-year-old daughter, Ella, for approximately 6 seconds and is first seen trying to set up a phone on a stand to record their video.
Ella can be seen telling him, “it’s the red one,” referring to the “record” button on the phone.
Travolta replies, “I know, I know,” before joining his daughter to dance in sync on the green grass to “Sunday Best” by Surfaces.
Also appearing in the advert is TV personality and entrepreneur Martha Stewart, who seems impressed as she tells viewers, “He’s still got it” — a reference to Travolta’s famous dancing skills.
A delighted fan said the following after seeing the hilarious video: “This is so special and literally brightened the day for millions of us. You both bring so much joy to this world…sending you many blessings always!?✨?”
A second remark read: “John your still so cool!! Good guys definitely finish first and so do their sweet daughters! Thanks for sharing so much with us!”
Another commenter wrote: “Always like when you dance. It just makes me happy! Icing on the cake to see you with your daughter.”
This follower stated: “Feel the music enjoy ability the move common the most you love the music that’s right this is Faye Allen let’s go??❤️❤️❤️???.”
John Travolta is best known for his role in Grease, but he carries somewhat of a legacy when it comes to dancing.
In 1985, he danced with the late Diana, Princess of Wales, during a gala at the White House where she wore a black dress which later became known as the “Travolta dress.” It sold for more than $325,000 in 2019.
Last August, he shared a short video clip on Instagram dancing with his daughter, Ella. In the caption, he told followers they were dancing “in memory” of his wife, Kelly Preston, who died the previous month following a 2-year battle with cancer.
The couple had been married almost 30 years, and Travolta said one of her favorite things had been dancing with him.
