Camila Giorgi made headlines on the tennis court because of her dress. The famous Italian tennis player grabbed headlines and the umpire’s attention over the weekend as she was about to go up against Aryna Sabalenka.
On Sunday, the 30-year athlete walked on the tennis court during the high-profile match at the French Open wearing an outfit composed of a cream top attached to a short ruffle skirt.
Before her third-round clash with her opponent, Camila Giorgi was approached by an official who had some questions about her choice of outfit.
It was not a fashion faux pas, and the umpire asked Camila Giorgi to change her dress because of the logo on her top.
He explained that the advertising logo on her dress was too big and requested that she remove her dress and wear another outfit.
She responded by saying: “I don’t have any change, and this is my only dress. I played with it before.”
According to tennis commentator Jose Morgado, the umpire explained to Giorgi that she would be able to complete the match in her outfit.
There was some drama with Giorgi's dress before her match vs. Sabalenka. The comercial label was too big.

However, he had plans to discuss the incident with “the office” after the match.
The umpire was pointing out the fact that the size of the kitchen appliance manufacturer DeLonghi on Giorgi’s chest was not the appropriate size.
Giorgi was correct, she had worn the dress during the tournament, but it did not include the large logo.
The umpire’s words did not trouble Camila Giorgi because she went on to win the match. On Sunday, Camila Giorgi changed her outfit by wearing another dress that features a smaller logo.
The logo once featured on the tennis star’s chest was moved to her left shoulder. Giorgi, the world No. 30, was sadly kicked out of the Parisian tournament by Daria Kasatkina.
Camila Giorgi had this to say after losing the tennis game: “Not a great game… What can I say? There is that statistic, so I cannot say anything, right? But I think today it was [just] like this. It was two opposite games. Me, I was trying always to push, to play the game, and she is totally different.”
Giorgi added: “But today [my game] didn’t work. The other days, yes, and we can see the difference.”
