Ivanka Trump‘s decision to follow her husband, Jared Kushner‘s suggestion to distance herself from her father, Donald Trump, has become a nightmare scenario for the entire family.
After leaving the White House, the former first daughter and her spouse took drastic actions to no longer be associated with Donald Trump and the Trump business empire.
One of those decisions included Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, testifying in front of the House committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
Ivanka Trump, who served as a top adviser to Donald Trump, sat in front of lawmakers for more than 8 hours. She surprised many by answering a majority of the questions posed relating to the horrific events that took place that day.
A reliable political insider spoke to The Times and explained that Ivanka Trump did not seek to invoke any privilege.
She declined to plead the fifth and gave important details about the horrific January attack orchestrated by thousands of Donald Trump supporters who did not accept the results of the 2020 election that saw Joe Biden victorious.
A mob of Trump backers stormed the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., with the plan to overturn the election, which led to chaos and deadly violence.
The invasion caused six deaths and left 138 police injured. Jared Kushner also testified before the committee and gave what was described as helpful information.
Virginia Democratic Rep. Elaine Luria appeared on NPR and MSNBC and explained: “I think that the committee really appreciates hearing information directly from people who have relevant facts about January 6, and the fact that Jared Kushner came as a witness is helpful to building the story of our investigation.”
Sources close to the former president have revealed to Radar that he is furious by Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner voluntarily testifying in front of the panel.
Ivanka Trump’s brothers, Donald Jr. and Eric, are also upset. The family feels that Ivanka Trump has betrayed them with her confessions and revelations to the panel.
The insider stated: “Donald was furious with Ivanka. He and her brothers Donnie and Eric considered her testimony a betrayal. They believe she and Jared have chosen sides — and it aint’ with them. It’s with all their glittery, gala-going friends who don’t happen to like Donald all that much.”
Another source familiar with the matter explained that Jared Kushner wants to dissociate from his father-in-law because his businesses are thriving, and he does not want any negative press.
Jared Kushner also believes that Donald Trump brought the problems to himself.
The person shared: “Jared is riding high right now with the success of his new investment firm, which just scored a $2 billion windfall from the Saudis. He doesn’t want to hear Ivanka second-guessing herself over siding with him instead of her family. From his point of view, Donald bought all of these problems upon himself. Jared believes he and Ivanka did the best thing for their own family by turning their backs on his family-in-law.”
Ivanka Trump’s decision to protect herself and their assets is like a bad gift that keeps giving. Just before Christmas, Ivanka Trump dropped an unexpected gift to her father that must have angered him.
The House committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol released a batch of transcripts from interviews conducted with Ivanka Trump and other high-ranking members of Donald Trump’s administration.
According to the transcripts, available on the committee’s website: “The president initially pushed back against his daughter Ivanka’s idea to add a call for protesters to stay peaceful in a tweet after the violence started on the 6th before he relented. The committee said Ivanka Trump grew visibly frustrated on January 6 as she repeatedly tried to be a calming influence on her father, repeatedly encouraging him to tell his supporters to back down.
The committee says Ivanka Trump told them that she eventually retreated to the office of her husband, Jared Kushner because she needed to “regroup” and “collect herself.”
