Unable to control the fights between the ladies of his life, Donald Trump brought in the big guns to deal with the situation, according to author Michael Schmidt.
Michael Schmidt, who is promoting the book Donald Trump v. The United States, recently made an appearance on MSNBC where he opened up about the nasty and well-known brawls between Melania Trump and her stepdaughter, Ivanka Trump.
The two women, famous public figures and accomplished businesswomen, have often butted heads while trying to get Donald Trump’s attention.
The drama between the Trump ladies went to another level once Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States.
For the very first time in history, it seemed that the country had two first ladies. Ivanka Trump took on double duties as White House senior adviser and co-first lady.
Ivanka Trump was quick to step in and gleefully perform Melania Trump’s duties for much of 2017. For more than six months, the former model surprised the world by refusing to move into the White House in Washington, DC.
She opted to stay at Trump Tower in New York as her son, Barron, completed the school year.
However, once Melania Trump arrived in the nation’s capital, she expected to get her high-profile role back from Ivanka Trump.
However, that was not the case, and the bitter feud began. Donald Trump was clever enough to avoid the verbal punches between his wife and oldest daughter and called retired U.S. Marine Corps general John Kelly, a man with a lot of weight to handle the situation.
White House chief of staff John Kelly, a four-star Marine general, who was hired to bring stability to the White House and push stricter immigration laws, was forced to deal with the petty conflicts between the Trump women.
According to the New York Times journalist: “John Kelly is probably as serious a national security figure as you can find, a four-star Marine general. He comes into the White House, and he thinks that he needs to put in structure and better staffing for Trump, and all of a sudden, he’s confronting far more frivolous issues like fights between the first lady and Ivanka Trump, and Ivanka Trump trying to maneuver, what Kelly was told, to become the first lady in this ceremonial ways.”
He went on to reveal: “Here’s John Kelly, right, concerned that we could be on the brink of war with North Korea, trying to mitigate these issues that are not as serious but were front and center in the Trump White House where things were off the rails.”
The former Secretary of Homeland Security was also asked to speak to former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, who held too many parties at the White House pool.
Kelly also revealed that Trump wanted to drop a nuclear bomb on North Korea and blame it on another country. John Kelly and Donald Trump are no longer on speaking terms.
During the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol, Kelly said that Trump should be removed from office by use of the 25th Amendment.
He added: “What happened on Capitol Hill yesterday is a direct result of his poisoning the minds of people with the lies and the frauds.”
The controversial Republican figure is the favorite to win the nomination for 2024.
