Gisele Bündchen has decided to open up about her life — tackling her shocking divorce from Tom Brady and the pain and struggles she went through during her modeling years.
In a sit-down interview with Vanity Fair magazine, the Brazilian businesswoman decided to set the record straight on some rumors surrounding her split from the retired NFL star.
The mother of two claimed that chatter saying that she left Brady because he decided to un-retire and go back to the football field is inaccurate.
She said that it was a long and heartbreaking buildup that ended the 13-year marriage. She clapped back at the reports that she was not a big supporter of her then-husband being an athlete.
She stated: “What’s been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle. It’s not so black and white. I have always cheered for him, and I will continue to do so forever. If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me. I want all his dreams to come true.”
Declining to go into too much detail, Gisele Bündchen explained that she and Tom Brady grew apart.
She confessed: “Sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart. When I was 26 years old, and he was 29 years old, we met; we wanted a family, we wanted things together.”
Bündchen said that while she still has love for the father of her children, they made the decision to divorce upon discovering that their future plans were no longer aligned.
Se stated: “As time goes by, we realize that we just wanted different things, and now we have a choice to make. That doesn’t mean you don’t love the person.”
Gisele Bündchen, the author of the new memoir Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, also did an interview with CBS reporter Lee Cowan in which she confessed that post-divorce life is better than she imagined.
She claimed: “I’m in a different place in my life,” Bündchen said. “I’m able to choose more of what I want. I think before I was more surviving, and now I’m living, which is different.”
She also explained that if she had to do it all over again with Tom Brady, she would not hesitate. The supermodel revealed: “I wouldn’t have any other life. I wouldn’t have done it,” Bündchen said. “If they say, ‘Can you change something in your life?’ I wouldn’t change absolutely anything.”
Cowan asked: “Not even getting divorced?” Bündchen replied by: “I mean, it’s not what I dreamed of or what I hoped for. My parents have been married for 50 years, and I really wanted that to happen. But I think you have to accept, you know, sometimes that the way you are in your 20s, it’s sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart.”
The two exes seem to be enjoying life post-marriage.
