Joe Biden, the man at the center of the political storm of the decade, maintains a religious vow of silence about the circumstances that led to his abrupt departure from the Democratic ticket.
However, some of his aides are talking. On July 21, Biden shared a statement announcing that he was no longer seeking a second term.
The profoundly religious man did not divulge the painful reasons for this coming to Jesus moment.
Reports circulated that his former president, Barack Obama, played a heavy hand in that decision.
However, it was the forceful push from former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a longtime friend, that ultimately led to Biden’s resignation.
Sources close to Biden spoke to The Daily Mail and revealed the events that led to the moment that made American political history.
Pelosi, a political force to be reckoned with, delivered a threat to Joe Biden that left him with no choice but to pen his resignation letter.
The staff told The Mail that Pelosi first sent an urgent message to let Biden know that his time was up and she was planning to go public.
The outlet shared: “As Biden nursed his COVID infection that fateful Saturday, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent an urgent message to the president: She was prepared to go public with her concerns that he could not defeat Donald Trump in November.”
Pelosi had this clear ultimatum for the president: “The ultimatum was clear: Drop out now – or Pelosi trashes her political ally, and friend of over 50 years, on the global stage.”
In a dramatic and final phone call, Pelosi informed Biden of her intention to publish damaging information and data about his campaign.
The publication said: “Four sources with intimate knowledge of the situation independently claimed that such a message was relayed, with one particularly well-placed source saying that a phone call took place in which Pelosi told Biden she would publish brutal polling figures to back up her attack.”
That fiery call marked the end of their communication. Pelosi said she has been praying for Biden’s forgiveness and return to normalcy, but God has yet to answer her prayer.
After the Democratic National Convention, the Democrats seem to have moved on, and the party has turned the page on the Biden era. Vice President Kamala Harris, the new nominee, has a large base of support in the party.
However, feelings are still mixed in Biden’s camp.
