JD Vance‘s run as Donald Trump‘s vice president has been largely unproductive and uneventful, apart from his now-forgotten and desperate stunt during Trump’s chaotic meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the White House.
However, the same cannot be said for his wife, Usha Vance, who has been playing the role of the first lady in Melania Trump‘s absence.
Surprisingly, with Melania Trump’s approval, the lawyer has taken full advantage and even expanded on the role of second lady and serving America.
For a brief moment, Mrs. Vance even appeared to have more influence in her current role than her husband and vice president.
Usha Vance and a delegation traveled to Greenland with the hidden intention of pressuring Denmark to give up the large territory.
These plans did not occur as planned because Danish officials refused to face Usha and the delegate she was sent with.
The Daily Beast shared: “American officials went door to door in Greenland’s capital looking for residents who would welcome a visit from Usha Vance during her upcoming trip—and every single one of them said no, according to a Danish TV report. The second lady and her husband, Vice President JD Vance, are headed to Greenland on Friday to visit Pituffik Space Base, but they will follow a pared-back itinerary after Usha Vance’s original plans to meet with locals and attend a world-famous dogsled race were met with widespread condemnation. With President Donald Trump increasingly calling for Greenland to come under U.S. control, Danish reporter Jesper Steinmetz reported that despite a week of canvassing, officials couldn’t find anybody in Nuuk interested in Vance’s visit. The Americans’ charm offensive has failed,” he said during a TV2 broadcast, as reported by The Hill. “They have finally understood what the Greenlanders here in town have been trying to tell them for a little over a week: We don’t want visitors right now.”
The vice president and his wife have decided to set themselves up for new disappointment with a new trip. The Vance couple will be traveling to India later this month.
Politico says the couple will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi for a private dinner.
However, a source said Vance’s schedule in India would be “largely private,” with the pair taking part in what is described as a “heritage tour.”
The visit to India has been rescheduled multiple times, and many political experts believe it would be as chaotic as the trips to France, Germany, and Greenland.
