She now lives on a large estate where Portia cares for horses. Ellen enjoys the countryside’s calm with their sheep and goats but admits she sometimes gets bored. As reported by the BBC, DeGeneres said, “I miss a lot of my experiences from hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and I would love to do that again. I do like my chickens here, but I am a little bit bored.” These reflections came after their move and the associated personal changes.

However, many noted that Portia was not present at the Q&A session, leading to questions about whether she was enjoying the same idyllic lifestyle. According to a source, Portia is thrilled by the peace and calmness of their large farming estate. Since Ellen has no show to host, no comedy skits to prepare, and no major Hollywood meetings, the workaholic personality has recently found herself with a lot of spare time.
Ellen has been using those hours to micromanage Portia’s life, which has become a major source of frustration. Portia reportedly finds Ellen overbearing and controlling, constantly inquiring about her whereabouts, even when she simply goes out to ride a horse or tend to the animals.
A source told Yahoo: “Portia is starting to feel like every aspect of her life is micromanaged. If she wants to go for a horse ride, a jog, or even a trip to the shops, it’ll be met with a dozen questions. Ellen hates going anywhere by herself, so Portia’s always on the hook to be by her side.”
The insider added, “Portia feels totally suffocated much of the time. She loves Ellen dearly, but she’s insisting on some breathing room. She can’t go on like this.”
