Joshua Jahn, 29, shot and killed two immigrants in ICE custody in Dallas, firing from a rooftop near an immigration attorney’s office before dying by suicide. Authorities say no ICE officers were harmed.

Conflicting Statements Emerge

While several politicians, including Ted Cruz, have spoken on the matter, a motive for the deadly shooting has not yet been identified as of this report.

Around the same time, FBI Director Kash Patel commented on the incident, providing further details to the media, including that the bullets had “anti-ICE” scrawled on the shells with blue ink.

Patel said: “While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an ideological motive behind this attack. These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off.”

President Donald Trump was quick to react to the shooting and blamed it on the “Radical Left Democrats” and their rhetoric against law enforcement.

Donald Trump’s statement on the shooting at the ICE facility is as follows: “The politically motivated violence we are seeing against our brave law enforcement officers and ICE agents is despicable. I have been briefed on the cowardly attack in Dallas, where a vile monster, fueled by the rhetoric of Radical Left Democrats, murdered two innocent people. The shell casings found with “anti-ICE” scrawled on them are a direct result of the hatred and lies being peddled by the Biden-Harris Administration and their allies. We must condemn this political violence and defend our heroes in blue, who are a thin blue line between chaos and civilization. My prayers are with the victims and their families.”

Once the shooter was identified following the events, his brother, Noah Jahn, spoke to the media. In an interview with NBC News, he stated in disbelief that his sibling had no political affiliation and was not involved in political matters. He explained that Joshua Jahn was currently unemployed and planned to return home to live with his parents in Oklahoma.

However, while the brother claimed Jahn had no political involvement, it has been revealed that he is a registered independent voter and has a criminal record, including a 2016 felony charge for delivering marijuana. The brother said he is confused and baffled by the events because the 29-year-old was not interested in politics and did not care about Republicans or Democrats.

A Family’s Baffling Contradiction

The brother explained:”He didn’t have strong feelings about ICE as far as I knew. I didn’t think he was politically interested. He wasn’t interested in politics on either side as far as I knew.”

He continued, saying that they saw each other two weeks ago and all seemed normal. According to his brother, they grew up in Texas and were members of the Boy Scouts.

He also said that while Joshua had some knowledge of how to handle a gun, he was not a veteran or an expert shooter. It is hard for him to believe that his brother could have shot those people from that distance.

He added that his brother knew how to use a rifle that his parents owned, but insisted that “he’s not a marksman, that’s for sure.” When asked about the ICE facility shooting, he remarked: “He would not be able to make any shots like that.”

The investigation is currently underway, and there is no confirmed motive for the crime at this moment.
