Selena Gomez’s Former Friend Francia Raisa Makes Her Feel Guilty With This Revelation

Selena Gomez Former Friend Francia Raisa

Days after Selena Gomez‘s wedding to Benny Blanco, attended by celebrities including her friend, Taylor Swift, her other former close friend, Francia Raisa, spoke to the media about her invitation and why she was not included.

For those who are not aware, Francia saved Selena‘s life by donating a kidney in 2017. Gomez was battling complications from the autoimmune disease lupus.

The pair were very close; however, it appears that there has been a fallout, and they are no longer on speaking terms.

Francia Raisa Discusses Selena Gomez’s Wedding

During an interview with Magaly Ortiz TV held days after the wedding, Francia explained the situation. When asked if she knew about Selena Gomez’s recent marriage in California to Benny Blanco, she said, “Of course,” and expressed genuine happiness for Selena, but she confirmed that she was not invited to the event.

Francia explained: “Oh my God. You know what? I’m not going to talk about that right now. But I do know that she’s getting married and I’m very happy for her.”

She went on to speak about Selena’s achievements, including her status as a billionaire and her great success as an actress.

It appeared she was saying all of that either with sarcasm or as a way to remind Selena that she was able to accomplish these things because Francia donated a kidney.

Francia added, “She has a life and she’s already a billionaire, and I’m grateful that I was able to do that for her.”

The Price of a Life-Saving Gift

When asked what kind of advice she would give to someone considering organ donation, she told the person that it is a generous gift. She said: “It cannot have a dollar tag attached to it.”

She added, “You’re not going to call and say, ‘What are you doing with my dollar?’ It’s a donation, and it’s something beautiful that I was able to do. I’m grateful that I’m alive and able to say that I’ve saved a life.”

No Time for Rumors

Francia was also asked if she is upset or angry about Selena Gomez’s rumored behavior, for example, the claim that Selena has been smoking or drinking after receiving the kidney. She said she is “really not aware” of all the rumors going around.

Additionally, she stated that she is working, busy, and does not focus on rumors circulating online. Nonetheless, Francia hinted that she and Selena might one day address these issues in detail together.

She said: “Okay, so what you’re asking me about right now are jokes that have been in the media, and there are too many rumors. I’ve never said anything. When that rumor came out that I had gotten angry or something like that because [Selena] was smoking, I wasn’t aware of those rumors. TMZ called me, and I was working. So, what you’re asking me about are rumors. No one knows what’s going on, and neither she nor I is talking about it. Maybe one day, we will.”

Francia Raisa’s Guilt Trip Revelation

Many took to social media to say they believe the Grownish actress was poking Gomez by reminding her that she owes her life and therefore her accomplishments.

Some say that the interview will make Selena feel guilty for not being generous enough with her time towards the woman who saved her.

Others defended Selena Gomez by saying it is not that she is ungrateful; maybe she does not want a constant reminder of her health struggles that have made it impossible for her to carry a baby.
