It was not long ago that many were asking why the youngest son of Donald Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump, Barron Trump, did not engage more with young Republican groups in New York.
Many saw that while a freshman at NYU’s main campus in Manhattan, it would have been a great opportunity for him to become more politically involved and join the young Republican group, take on a leadership role, and work with the Republican Party, as well as socialize with like-minded individuals.
Barron might be wise beyond his years, and he stayed away from the groups, preferring to be apolitical and scandal-free.
President Donald Trump is certainly relieved and thrilled that his son never associated with “those kinds of people” after several “graphic, vile, and disgusting” text messages from a young Republican group chat were leaked.
“Racist And Violent Rhetoric Exposed”
The leaks, obtained by POLITICO, revealed 2,900 pages of shocking chat exchanges among about a dozen young Republican group leaders, including widespread racism, antisemitism, misogyny, and violent rhetoric.
Kansas Young Republicans Vice Chair William Hendrix used racial slurs in the chat, sharing a racist joke about African Americans involving chicken, watermelon, and Kool-Aid.
He wrote: “I’m ordering the chicken, watermelon, and Kool-Aid.”
Peter Guinta, the former Chair of the New York State Young Republicans, also contributed to the vile exchange. After losing a bid to become national chair, he stated that anyone who did not vote for him should be sent to the “gas chamber.”
He also bragged about creating methods of psychological torture for those who disagreed with him, and frequently joked about Adolf Hitler, saying he “simply loves Hitler.”
He said: “Great. I love Hitler.”
“Disturbing Comments On Rape And Antisemitism”
The leaked messages also exposed other disturbing comments. Bobby Walker, the former Vice President of the New York State Young Republicans, referred to the mass rape of Indigenous women as “epic” in a lengthy exchange with other members. Guinta also directed antisemitic insults toward a Jewish political figure, referring to that person as a “fat stinky Jew.”
New York National Committee Member Annie Kaykaty explained in the chat that she looked forward to seeing people “getting burned,” to which Guinta responded with his comment about loving Hitler.
She added, “I can’t wait to watch people getting burned.”
There were also many vile remarks aimed at the NBA and its players, with Guinta expressing that watching a basketball game is like “watching monkeys play ball.”
Guinta wrote: “I’d go to the zoo if I wanted to watch monkey play ball.”
“Fallout And Condemnation”
According to the media outlet, one person has been fired, and one other has stepped down. The Kansas Republican Party stated that the state Young Republican organization has been deactivated after the leaks. Former Vice Chair William Hendrix was also fired from his communications job at the office of Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach. Kobach told the Kansas Reflector that the comments are “inexcusable.”
The politician said: “Mr. Hendrix’s assignment in my office has ended.”
Prominent New York Republican Representative Elise Stefanik was quick to condemn the chat, with a spokesperson stating that she “calls for any NY Young Republicans responsible for these horrific comments in this chat to step down immediately.”
Vice President J D Vance Calls Racist Young Republican Texts “Edgy, Offensive Jokes” By “Kids”
In an interview on The Charlie Kirk Show, Vice President J.D. Vance defended those who participated in the disturbing leaked Young Republican chat, saying that these 35-year-olds are kids who are sharing “edgy, offensive jokes” .
On the nature of the messages and the people involved, he said: “The reality is that kids do stupid things, especially young boys. They tell edgy, offensive jokes. Like, that’s what kids do. And I really don’t want us to grow up in a country where a kid telling a stupid joke, telling a very offensive, stupid joke is cause to ruin their lives.”
On the public reaction and comparison to a Democrat’s past comments: “This is 1,000 times worse than what a bunch of young people, a bunch of kids say in a group chat, however offensive it might be. Grow up. Focus on the real issues. Don’t focus on what kids say in group chats.”
Barron Trump has reportedly transferred his college studies from New York to Washington, D.C., where he is attending New York University’s campus in the nation’s capital, located near the White House. He remains unaffiliated with young Republican groups.
The young Trump has left New York, as well as its environment, shaped by woke Democrats and controversy among some young Republicans. Barron was not involved with these Republican groups or any related incidents.
The 19-year-old college student is now closer to his parents, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
Melnia Trump is delighted that her only child is in a more familiar and secure environment. The Washington D.C. campus offers him the opportunity to study politics, policy, and business in the nation’s capital.
