Princess Kate, also known as Kate Middleton, had assumed that the ongoing headache caused by her disgraced uncle, Andrew, was over.
Along with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Catherine, Princess of Wales, happily moved into their new “forever home,” Forest Lodge.
Delighted by the quick and wonderful efforts of construction workers and staff to have the multimillion-dollar mansion ready ahead of schedule, the Waleses decided to throw a private party for the employees as a thank-you.
A royal insider confirmed to The Mail: “Adelaide Cottage really does have some difficult memories associated with it, sadly. They have experienced some of their most challenging times there… The family are really happy about this [move] and excited for a fresh start.”
The Daily Mail reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales held a celebration at The York Club for staff. A royal insider claimed: “The couple very sweetly just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to help.”
Andrew Ruins The Fresh Start
However, Andrew’s actions have quickly overshadowed the celebration and the new move for Prince William and Princess Catherine. As it turns out, the Prince and Princess of Wales will not be able to see Andrew leave as soon as they hoped.
King Charles III did indeed evict his fallen brother from the Royal Lodge and strip him of his titles. Andrew, who had barely paid any rent in the past three decades, was banished to a smaller but still cozy private home belonging to King Charles on his Sandringham Estate. He will receive private security and millions in compensation for the renovations he made to the Royal Lodge.
However, Andrew will remain at the Windsor Estate for the foreseeable future and may stay well into early 2026 or beyond. Andrew remains at the 30-room mansion with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and there is no confirmed departure date. As a result, the Wales family will temporarily reside next to Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
A Hoarder’s Last Stand
According to The Daily Mail, the couple’s belongings are still in the royal mansion as they have accumulated numerous objects, clothes, furniture, trinkets, and gifts over the years. Andrew is overseeing the handling of some of his more personal items with the help of professional movers.
The former couple is still hunkering down in the home, postponing their eviction as they figure out how to move out their countless belongings, including numerous unopened Amazon boxes.
The Mail shared: “The former Duchess is said to be ‘more on edge’ than Andrew and is hunkering down in Royal Lodge, surrounded by Amazon deliveries, amid the couple’s dramatic fall from grace. Nevertheless, it is expected to take weeks for Andrew to finally leave Royal Lodge – with the move not due to take place until the new year.”
A source said: “The Amazon deliveries that go up to Royal Lodge are unbelievable. There are rooms full of boxes that haven’t even been opened. It will take weeks, if not months, to shift all their stuff out.”
Andrew’s Holiday Decision Sparks Showdown King Charles
Andrew will likely prolong the process as he personally supervises the packing of his personal items, including his extensive collection of teddy bears and private gifts.
He will be at the Windsor estate until the end of the year and may also make an appearance at Christmas parties, though he is not expected or wanted at the Royal Family gathering and will therefore spark a showdown with King Charles, who is said to be fed up and embarrassed by his brother.
