It has been a wildly busy week for Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, who made it clear, both in words and actions, what kind of King and Queen they will be when they eventually take over the British monarchy.
While Prince William sat down for a telling, raw interview, Princess Kate opted to have her team officially brief The Times about what is to come — specifically detailing the massive changes she will make and the exact aspects she will flat-out refuse to modify because they go entirely against her true nature as a woman and a senior member of the Royal Family.
After her big return to the global royal tour stage with a smashing, headline-making visit to Italy to represent the monarchy and promote her early childhood program, some sharp criticism hit the media cycle.
Naysayers claimed that the visit was quite a bit boring, demanding to know: “Why isn’t Kate a bit edgier, a bit more like Diana, who campaigned to raise awareness of HIV and Aids? Why is she not pushing boundaries and giving dramatic speeches like Meghan Markle? Why is she not edgy and bold?”
Authentic to the Core
Talking directly to The Times, members of Princess Kate’s team explained that her ultimate goal is to be completely authentic and effective.
She is doing what she is truly passionate about, and she will continue to push an aggressive agenda she believes will help parents and shape the future of the world through her early childhood program. That is what she will do.
What she will absolutely not do is compete with the late Princess Diana, and she will for certain not compete with Meghan Markle. Kate has zero intention of faking it or suddenly becoming someone she is not just for the cameras.
As a source revealed in The Times, she is not a performer and added: “To pose those questions is to fundamentally misunderstand this princess, who has never been, and doesn’t want to be, edgy. Kate wants to be authentic. She wants to pursue what she really cares about. And, boy, does she care about giving children the best chance in life in their first five years.”
Reflecting on the intense, hands-on nature of her work during her two-day blitz in Italy, the publication further stated: “Over two days in Italy, she listened intently to children, teachers, practitioners, and scientists and spoke passionately about her eagerness to learn more and spread the word. I joined her for a long afternoon of learning at the Loris Malaguzzi center, a hub for the Reggio Emilia approach. I’ll admit that as Kate rolled up her sleeves and got stuck into a clay workshop, I may have briefly glanced at my watch. But as she left the center more than an hour and a half later, she told her hosts: ‘I wish I could stay longer.’”
Below Her Pay Grade
The Princess of Wales will not all of a sudden transform or put on a cheap performance just to score a quick headline or get temporary public credit.
Princess Kate is not competing with Meghan Markle because doing so is entirely below her pay grade, her pride, and her royal dignity. She has high standards for the crown.
