Either former President Donald Trump is running the most discreet presidential campaign in history, or he has a trick up his sleeves.
In a new interview, Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, claims it is the latter. Cohen, who knows the insides and outs of Donald Trump’s businesses and political affairs, says that the real estate mogul has decided to run for president for the third time to make money.
During an appearance on CNN, the disbarred attorney claimed that Trump has embarked on a political train that is going nowhere near the White House.
Since holding a splashy event at Mar-a-Lago to announce his candidacy, Cohen pointed out that Trump has not revealed his campaign manager, finance director, or any other staff member.
Trump has yet to release a political ad or lay out his policies. Donald Trump, famous for destroying his opponents, has yet to attack his main adversary — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is beating him in many polls.
All that is known so far are the names of the people who have declined to participate in Trump’s bid to become the leader of the free world.
Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, who served as senior advisors to the 45th U.S. president, have explained that they are stepping away from politics to focus on their billion-dollar business empire and family life.
Cohen asked tough questions about the state of Trump’s campaign. He wondered: “All he has done is file a single piece of paper, announcing that he is running for the presidency of the United States as a Republican. And he is looking for the nomination. Okay. Who is his campaign manager? Who’s his finance director? Who is his press secretary? Who’s the scheduler? Where is his staff? There is none. And you know why there isn’t any?”
Michael Cohen made the disturbing claim that the billionaire businessman launched the campaign to convince his millions of supporters to donate.
Cohen revealed: “Because he’s going to use that announcement to continue the big breath, the great grift of Donald, and more people are going to continue to send in more money under the guise that he is going to run. And at the end of the day, I don’t believe he is going to run.”
Cohen repeated that Trump is not serious about his bid for the presidency of the United States. He continued: “And also, I don’t believe he’s going to be able to run with all the litigation and the sedition that he is committed against this country. I don’t believe he’s going to be able to run.”
According to Cohen, the justice department will do its job and catch up to Trump. Cohen was an attorney for Trump from 2006 to 2018 and served as a vice president of the Trump Organization and the personal counsel to Trump.
The special counsel investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election led to Cohen being sentenced to three years in prison. He served one year due to concerns regarding COVID-19.
Trump is teasing a big announcement for tomorrow.
