Actress Jennifer Garner has big plans for the upcoming year. By all accounts, 2022 was dominated by Garner’s ex-husband, Ben Affleck, who, after rekindling with Jennifer Lopez 20 years after their failed romance, had a lavish wedding in Georgia.
Garner is eying a move into the political world. Those, who know or follow Jennifer Garner, are not surprised by the decision.
The mother of three is an active Democrat who publicly supports President Joe Biden and is not afraid to talk about his policies or defend him when attacked by Republicans or the media.
She has campaigned for progressive candidates fighting to make it as mayor and in Congress and recently attended a lavish dinner at the White House with her daughter, Violet.
The source, who spoke to The Sun, did not say if the power move into the political sphere will lead Jennifer Garner to throw her hat in the ring to become perhaps Governor of California, a congresswoman or if she is eying the highest office in the land — the presidency.
No matter what Garner decides, she already has the financial backing of JJ Abrams and his wife, Katie McGrath.
The insider shared: “Even though Jen came from humble roots, she was filled with potential beyond just acting from a very early age. With her kids finally older and more independent, she’s exploring stuff she missed out on in her thirties, like being much more politically active than ever and trying to use her fame and reputation for good. Jen really does have a taste for politics, plus she’s just such an appealing person to all her friends, conservative and liberal. When she speaks from the heart, you believe her, and you take her seriously.”
The source went on to say that Garner has had a foot in political races for many years, helping other candidates, and it is only logical that she runs.
The family friend said: “JJ and his wife Katie have known Jen for close to 25 years and helped Jen become a major player in the LA mayor’s race, where Jen supported and raised money for the eventual winner, Karen Bass. Here’s the thing – Jen really wants to make the world a better place for her kids, and she’s reached her limit of how much she can do that as an actor or even a producer. Her next step is going to be some kind of political run because she really has a taste for it.”
The person stated that it is ironic that Garner is the one who is gutsy enough to step into the political ring when the world assumes that her ex-husband, Affleck, would be the one to catch the political bug.
The person concluded by: “It’s pretty ironic since back when Jen and Ben Affleck first got together 20 years ago, everybody was talking about how Ben might run for a Georgia senate seat. But It’s Jen who is really the politician at heart.”
Garner needs to show that she can connect with voters.
