Donald Trump has yet to accept the results of the 2020 presidential election, where he lost against Joe Biden.
Despite the numbers and the data provided to him, the billionaire real estate mogul has frequently repeated that the election was stolen or rigged.
True MAGA voters and politicians have supported Trump’s claims which further fueled him to continue his bombastic statements on the matter.
Trump and his allies, who refused to accept the outcome of the election, filed 63 lawsuits in several states urging for recounts.
However, in late 2020, Trump either doubted the theory he was pushing or needed concrete evidence to back his belief.
A report from the Washington Post confirmed that Trump and his campaign officials paid a small fortune to have experts prove that he was right and that voting fraud had cost him electoral victory.
The Republican politician determined to reverse President Joe Biden’s win hired the Berkeley Research Group, a research firm, to confirm that there was electoral fraud in 2020.
The team from Berkeley Research Group, composed of more than 12 experts, investigated Trump’s claims of election manipulation and irregularities in six states.
According to the source, who spoke to the Post, the Berkeley Research Group staff members did a deep dive and looked at “everything,” including the claims that millions of illegals were bused to certain states to vote.
Trump also asserted that some American citizens were allowed to vote multiple times. The media personality and businessman also believed that corrupt officials hid boxes containing ballots that could have given him the presidency for a second time.
The source explained: “Literally anything you could think of. Voter turnout anomalies, date of birth anomalies, whether dead people voted. If there was anything under the sun that could be thought of, they looked at it.”
According to the media outlet, “in the last days of 2020, the team had a conference call with Donald Trump,” his former chief of staff Mark Meadows, and other senior staff members.
When an unhappy Trump was told that they did not find any illegal interference with the process of the 2020 election, “the call reportedly became contentious.”
The source also revealed: “Just like any election, there are always errors, omissions, and irregularities. But the person stressed that they were not nearly enough to sway the election. It was nowhere close enough to what they wanted to prove. And it actually went in both directions.”
Trump’s reaction was to have the report from Berkeley suppressed and march on with his arguments that the election results had to be changed based on false allegations of widespread voter fraud.
In early January 2021, Trump had a fiery phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger demanding that he change the election results in the state.
Trump told the official, “find 11,780” votes so he could win the state. He then held a rally that changed America’s history forever.
He urged a mob of his supporters to protest at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, because he would never concede the election.
Trump was impeached a second time for inciting an attempted coup d’état on the United States democracy. On the anniversary of the January 6 Attack, Trump revived the “big lie” propaganda by writing on Truth Social: “That’s what you get when you have a rigged Election. In actuality, the Big Lie was the election itself.”
Trump also gave a rebuttal to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address last week, where he said: “And on top of all of that, he’s the most corrupt president in American history, and it’s not even close.”
The real estate mogul is running for the GOP nomination.
