Donald Trump‘s list of worries seems endless. The former president has found himself embroiled in multiple lawsuits, a sleepy campaign rollout, and a deluge of attacks from his GOP opponents, and he has now found himself at the mercy of his wife, Melania Trump.
According to a report that surfaced via Radar, the former first lady was not thrilled with her husband going to court against E. Jean Carroll.
The journalist and author revealed that Donald Trump had sexually assaulted her at a Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City.
Carroll stated in 2019: “Decades ago, the now President of the United States raped me. When I had the courage to speak out about the attack, he defamed my character, accused me of lying for personal gain, and even insulted my appearance.”
Trump denied the accusations. E. Jean Carroll filed a defamation lawsuit with the New York Supreme Court. She also dragged the real estate mogul to court for battery.
In May 2023, a jury found Trump liable for defamation and sexual abuse against Carroll and awarded her $5 million in damages. Trump later appeared in a disastrous CNN town hall where he slammed E. Jean Carroll.
He called her allegations “fake” and said it was a “made-up story” and she was a “whack job.” He also bashed her on multiple posts on Truth Social.
She has sued him again. This time she is seeking $10 million in additional damages.
Donald Trump accepts Malanie Trump’s proposition
According to Radar, Melania Trump used the trial to strike a massive deal with Donald Trump. She demanded raising her monthly allowance and pushing for a larger inheritance for her only son, Barron.
In return, the businesswoman will assist the flamboyant politician on the campaign trail. The person familiar with the situation told the media outlet: “This really was a take-it-or-leave-it situation. Let’s say Melania was in no mood to negotiate with Donald — and he knew full well there was no chance he was returning to the Oval Office without her.”
Another insider added: “She used the situation well to her advantage back then (referring to the time she didn’t join Donald at the White House for nearly six months) — and saw no reason why she shouldn’t do it again.”
Melania Trump is now energized for her husband’s 2024 campaign
Melania Trump did not appear at her husband’s 2024 campaign launch at Mar-a-Lago. The former glamor model has failed to appear at Trump’s campaign events across the country.
She has also declined to be by his side during his court appearances, but all has changed since the end of E. Jean Carroll’s trial. Melania Trump sat down on Fox News and revealed that she fully backs her husband.
She told the outlet: “He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength. My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can lead us toward greatness and prosperity once again.”
Melania Trump already has mapped out some ideas if her husband is elected in 2024. She said she would “prioritize the well-being and development of children as I have always done. My focus would continue to be creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow, and thrive. If additional problems arise, I will take the time to study them and understand their root causes.”
The former president needs his spouse in his corner for 2024.
