According to the New York Times, Donald Trump has repeatedly begged the former first lady to back him on the campaign trail, and she has brutally and repeatedly refused.
Members of Donald Trump’s team think it would be great if, like Michelle Obama, Melania Trump was interested in pushing a charity, doing interviews, writing a critically-acclaimed book, and going on a world tour to have engaging conversations with her backers.
Melania Trump and her fashion sense are deemed important assets for Donald Trump, but she forcefully declined all calls to be the face of her husband’s campaign.
The former model, who was burned out by the bright lights constantly shed on the White House, is now focused on being a mother.
The media outlet noted: “What she has not done, despite invitations from her husband, is appear on the campaign trail. Nor has she been at his side for any of his court appearances.”
The publication went on to reveal: “These are the days of Melania Trump, former first lady, current campaign spouse, and wife to one of the most divisive figures in American public life. Unlike her predecessors, there are no plans for a speaking tour, a book, or a major expansion of her charitable efforts, most of which, people close to the Trumps say, are not fully visible to the public. In her post-presidential life, she wants what she could not get in the White House: a sense of privacy.”
A person familiar with the situation revealed that while Melania Trump is allergic to campaigning, she fully supports her husband’s decision to run for president a third time.
The publication added: “While she supports his presidential bid, Melania Trump has not appeared on the trail since Trump announced his campaign in November and did not utter a public word about his effort until May when she endorsed him in an interview with Fox News Digital.”
Melania Trump said during the Fox News interview: “He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength.”
It is not all somber news for Donald Trump because the New York Times also indicated that Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are making serious moves that indicate they are coming back to the campaign.
According to sources, who spoke to the publication, the power couple is seeing Donald Trump soar in the polls and is closer to a second term at the White House with each indictment, lawsuit, and court appearance.
Some observers say Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are supportive of the former president because they are hoping that he will once again give them access to wealthy and powerful foreigners.
