Many people believe that former first lady Melania Trump would be a great asset to her husband, Donald Trump, on the campaign trail.
While the former president is doing well in the polls, her presence could add more to the endeavor. However, the former model has been reluctant to show her support in a public way.
In Mr. Trump’s two first runs for president, Melania Trump was more visible. Her absence and former first daughter Ivanka Trump‘s lack of interest in the process this time around have forced the real estate mogul to handle everything on his own.
However, there could be some changes in the future. Axios is reporting that Melania Trump is pushing for her spouse to take TV host Tucker Carlson as his vice president.
Some observers even say that adding the political commentator to the Republican ticket would convince Mrs. Trump to campaign harder. Carlson would be a big concession for Trump.
The former reality TV star does not like to share the spotlight, and Carlson is perfectly capable of standing on his own. There is also the fact that Trump is not one to forgive and forget completely.
Carlson was caught saying disparaging things about Trump. Moreover, he also said he hated him in texts. The two men have made peace, but it is unclear if Trump moved on from the entire thing.
Trump has rarely rewarded people who said awful things about him with top positions. However, keeping Melania happy and involved is also a real priority.
Carlson and Trump share a lot in terms of the America First agenda. Both men want the US to be less involved in foreign policy matters.
Melania Trump is set to make an appearance at a naturalization ceremony on December 15 at the National Archives. This could be the beginning of a slow but certain return to the spotlight.
However, critics think it is a bad idea. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former aide to Melania Trump took to social media to blast the idea.
The commentator wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “The hypocrisy of Melania Trump hosting a naturalization event at the National Archives (where Donald is under investigation) is right up there with her so-called Be Best anti-bullying platform (where Donald is Bully #1). This is a strategic move on Donald & Melania’s part.”
She went on to add: “Melania is a vessel of complicity & distraction trying to create a stark contrast from their reality. The Trump’s [sic] ‘actions’ contradict their so-called beliefs and values. As a mother and wife and someone who cares deeply about our democracy and American values, I know Melania Trump, and she doesn’t care about the US.”
The Trumps continue to thrive regardless of the drama.
