Despite the significance of the event, Melania Trump has chosen to remain silent about it. However, privately, she once discussed the shooting that took place in Pennsylvania on July 13.
In an interview with Laura Ingraham, Donald Trump explained that Melania Trump watched live and direct when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired five shots at him, and he survived the ordeal.
Donald Trump revealed that the assassination attempt was a traumatic experience for Melania Trump. She was uncertain if he survived the shooting that left one supporter dead.
The former president stated: “She was watching. She was watching live. It was all over the place. It was on television.”
The mother of one was at a loss for words and is still struggling to make sense of it all. She confessed that she assumed her son, Barron Trump, would grow up without a father.
The real estate mogul confessed: “She can’t even really talk about it. That’s okay; that means she likes me — she loves me. She could talk about it freely; I’m not so sure which is better. She either likes or loves me; that’s nice.”
Donald Trump revealed that Melania Trump was also in awe of the heroic Secret Service members who risked their lives to protect him.
The Secret Service also killed the would-be assassin.
Trump continued to have sympathy for the Secret Service agents almost failed him. He stated: “I just want to say one thing about the Secret Service… they were very brave. They were coming. Bullets were flying over me. I went down and they were — they were on top of me, I had a lot of huge, strong people on top of me.”
