After Donald Trump‘s unhappy Thanksgiving, he is now looking forward to the Christmas holiday with Melania Trump and their son, Barron Trump.
For Thanksgiving, the former president’s favorite daughter, Ivanka Trump, bailed on him. The businesswoman and her family opted to mark the year-end holiday doing something fun and unexpected — hosting dinner at her Miami mansion and watching Francis Ford Coppola’s 1972 classic The Godfather with Lex Fridman — a Russian-American podcaster.
However, according to Page Six, Ivanka Trump plans to earn her father’s forgiveness. Ivanka Trump, her husband, Jared Kushner, and their three children, Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick, and Theodore James, will join Donald Trump and former first lady Melania Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
She is not coming empty-handed; Ivanka Trump, while she might not be aware of it, will be dropping off a special “gift” to her father.
By the time Christmas rolls around, Donald Trump will be sinking deeper into his legal hole, and according to law experts and his niece, Ivanka Trump’s testimony might have been a factor.
Despite her best efforts to avoid it, Ivanka Trump has been forced to testify in the civil case where her father, his company, The Trump Organization, and associates are being pursued by York Attorney General Letitia James for lying to lenders and insurers about the value of their properties and assets in order to secure more favorable terms.
Ivanka Trump was deemed extremely damaging because she revealed that Donald Trump took money from his children to grossly inflate his net worth to get the loans from Deutsche Bank in 2011.
According to court documents, Ivanka Trump, who previously served as the executive vice president of her father’s company, wrote multiple emails acknowledging that, “as part of the lending agreement that her father made with Deutsche Bank, he had to sign a personal guarantee that he could cover all the principal and interest on the loan and that he could attain a net worth of at least $3 billion in exchange for very low-interest rates.”
According to Newsweek, Ivanka Trump told the judge she could not recall these emails.
One legal expert said that the former first daughter’s selective memory problem will not save her father because the damage has been done to him.
MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin reacted to Ivanka Trump’s testimony by saying that it might have been a coup de grâce for the former president.
Rubin said it was a jaw-dropping moment from Ivanka Trump and added: “They pledged assets of their own that helped them satisfy the guarantee, which, according to Deutsche Bank, was his and his alone. He was borrowing money from his kids’ piggy banks, and I’m not sure the impact of that struck everyone in the courtroom. My jaw almost dropped. I almost dropped my phone on the floor. I was just astonished by the proof that Donald Trump was robbing Peter to pay Paul, so to speak.”

Mary Trump, a niece of Donald Trump, who has made a career out of criticizing him and the rest of the Trump family, took to Twitter to say: “Ivanka revealed under oath that Donald took money from his own kids. As one legal expert said, her “jaw dropped” when she found out the family is “robbing Peter to pay Paul.”
Ivanka Trump is still thinking about getting involved with her father’s campaign.
