When all is said and done, King Charles III will be wondering what will be left of the British institution. The King anxiously ponders what his legacy will be.
How badly damaged will the monarchy be when Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their anonymous associates are done with it?
Prince William, who coined the phrase “we very much not racist,” must be asking what will he inherit.
His Majesty set out to be the green King, from a young age, then-Prince Charles, a nature lover and protector of the environment, was determined to make his reign about saving the planet.
However, with the arrival and abrupt departure of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the publication of tell-all books like Finding Freedom and now Endgame has forced the King to turn his focus on saving the reputation of the century-old institution.
King Charles and his heir, Prince William, have been under attack on multiple fronts via Prince Harry and Markle’s so-called sword of truths.
In Spare, Prince Harry revealed there is a personal element to his decision to take down the monarchy.
The Duke of Sussex confessed to feeling abandoned, neglected, and even abused, both physically and emotionally, by his brother.
The recently released extracts from longtime royal journalist Omid Scobie‘s Endgame revealed another reason for Prince Harry’s strikes on the Royal Family: to pay back for the way his wife was ill-treated by his relatives.
Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival shared the following example of how Markle was publicly humiliated and turned away by King Charles.
The former soldier now feels his family’s disdain is being inflicted on his children, Archie and Lilibet.
The British reporter revealed that Prince Harry called King Charles after he was evicted from Frogmore Cottage and bluntly asked him: “Don’t you want to see your grandchildren?”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s destruction of the monarchy is also being accomplished via race-related matters.
The book claimed that Markle revealed the names of two royals or royal affiliates who made racist comments about Archie before he was born.
Scobie wrote: “The Duchess of Sussex wrote private letters to King Charles III, in which she named the two people who took part in those conversations.”
Continuing with how race and racism impacted King Charles’s reign, the book revealed that the monarchy consciously decided to ignore the injustice that was done to an unarmed Black man, George Floyd, who was killed by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.
This week, the news broke that Derek Chauvin, who is incarcerated, was stabbed by another inmate and is fighting for his life, and echoes from Endgame revealed the British royal family “chose to completely ignore” the Black Lives Matter movement and George Floyd.
In an advanced copy of the book obtained by Page Six, journalist Omid Scobie revealed: “During my years covering the royals, I have regularly been surprised by the Palace’s blasé attitude when it comes to anything to do with race, racism, or the issues that impact those from minority backgrounds.”
Scobie added: “The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement spawned international protests against systemic racially motivated police brutality unrest hit the streets of London. A global civil rights issue was forcing change around the world, but the royal family chose to completely ignore it.”
Pointing the finger at King Charles and Prince William, he said: “As often as I emailed or phoned the Buckingham Palace communications team (more than weekly during the height of the BLM marches), my requests for on- or off-the-record guidance on whether we may see family members acknowledge this hugely important moment went noticeably unanswered — they responded to other queries I had, just not that one.”
He concluded: “The Palace famously stays away from anything it considers political, but unlike the political intricacies involved with the movement in the United States, BLM support in Britain simply meant standing up to and against racism.”
Most royal experts say the monarchy has withstood far worse in the past. They also claim that history is written by the winner; therefore, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be footnotes.
The only problem with that theory is that King Charles has a leaky and faulty pen and has barely scribbled down a few accomplishments since his coronation.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has been literally writing stories about his life and creating the narrative for the monarchy, so whose words will be remembered?
