According to Chelsea Clinton, rapper Jay-Z could have put more effort into his reaction to the weight loss of fellow entertainer Beyonce after her pregnancy.
Clinton seems to believe that Jay-Z’s response was significantly below what could be expected of him in this situation and that he should have been more enthusiastic about what was happening.
This came in response to Homecoming, a documentary that was recently released on Netflix by Beyonce herself.
The film had a scene in which Beyonce was talking to Jay-Z on FaceTime, telling him all about how excited she was to be able to fit into her clothes once again.
Clinton, who was watching the documentary with her husband, Marc Mezvinksy, shared the anecdote in a new interview with The Cut, where she explained: “I said, ‘Marc, if that’s ever me, you better have more enthusiasm. It wasn’t the ‘I’m so proud of you. That’s amazing’ that I arguably think any woman deserves, particularly someone who has clearly worked herself body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit to get to that place. Marc was like, ‘Duly noted.’”
She also stated: “I was like, ‘I bet every woman watching this has this sense of she deserves more enthusiasm,’ Marc was like, ‘I got it. Can we go back to watching it, please? We’ve talked about it three times in the last 90 seconds.’”
Responses over Clinton’s statement have been mostly negative, with many people claiming that she is sticking her nose in places it does not belong.
Clinton has been the subject of some attacks as a result of what she said, although she does not seem to have any desire to back down.
Knowing her personality, some fans say, it is more likely that she would ramp up her statements even more in the near future if she got provoked enough.
It does not seem like Jay-Z himself cares all too much about that, though, and neither does Beyonce.
The two have been moving on with their lives without any trouble, and in fact, they have been quite happy together, and have been proud to show that to their fans.
Hopefully, that does not change anytime soon, as they are one of the most famous couples in the entertainment world right now.
Clinton’s comments are also surprising because the power couple endorsed her mother, Hillary Clinton‘s presidential run in 2016, and the two music superstars campaigned hard for her against then-candidate Donald Trump.
