Kanye West caught up with some photographers after a basketball game on Friday night. He did a lot of talking about his situation following the backlash over comments he made about Jewish people.
The artist, who goes by Ye, said he is sorry and now he is all about love. However, he raised some eyebrows by comparing himself to George Floyd and Emmett Till.
He stated: “I questioned The Death of George Floyd; it hurt my people. I heard the black people, so I want to apologize for hurting them. Because right now, God has shown me by what Adidas is doing and by what by what the media is doing, I know how it feels to have a knee on my neck now. So, I thank you, God, for humbling me and letting me know how it really felt.”
Later in the tirade, he added: “We haven’t had a few a full black community since the gentrification of Harlem and Black Wall Street, which was torn down, but I know my brothers, my engineers, my architects, my farmers are going to rise up and if it meant they had to take me and drag me like Emmett Till in front of everyone because I whistled.”
Many people on social media found the new comments tacky because the two people he mentioned never lived to tell their stories. Moreover, critics say West brought most of his problems upon himself.
However, he also linked the current backlash to his political views. The fashion guru says that he is being punished for wearing the MAGA hat.
In reality, the hip-hop icon only paid a price when he started making anti-Semitic statements. He had gone after Black people, threatened Pete Davidson, harassed his former in-laws, and almost faced no consequences.
Interestingly, after apologizing to Jewish people, he blamed a Jewish doctor for misdiagnosing him with a mental disorder as part of a larger conspiracy.
According to reports, West lost close to $2 billion after the recent controversies. Brands like Adidas no longer want to be in a partnership with him. Many celebrities have also taken a stand against some of his extreme views.
Even Johnny Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, has refused to have him as a client.

On Saturday, he returned to Instagram to preach love. However, he did caption one of his posts with: “The “unknown powers” are trying to destroy my life off of a tweet. So does this prove that my so-called suspicion was true? Leading with love This is #lovespeech.”
Despite the backlash, West still retains a large following on social media and elsewhere.
