It is being claimed that Celine Dion‘s eating habits became so extreme that most of the people close to the “My Heart Will Go On” singer became increasingly worried about her wellbeing.
The 52-year-old Canadian superstar was so dedicated to staying in shape that she followed a rigorous training regime and her diet was very limited.
As a result, a person close to the music legend commented on the situation by stating, “There’s a real concern she’s pushing herself into the danger zone. She never did know when to stop.”
The friend of the singer also explained that Dion was preparing for her concerts, which are to take place in Paris next spring, and that she wanted to be in shape.
She “is pushing herself into the danger zone,” a source revealed to OK!. “Her diet is terrible — she eats little more than a few pieces of fruit and a couple of crackers to get her through her day — and she’s working out with trainers seven days a week, doing endless hours of ballet.”
Besides, the “Courage” performer was convinced that in order to become slim enough, she had to not only train very hard every day but also eat less.
However, according to the concerned friend of the singer, Dion also used exercise as a way to keep her mind off her late husband, René Angélil, who passed away in January 2016.
Angélil’s death made Dion obsessive about her body shape, and a lot of her friends and close ones were now concerned not only about her declining health but also “how she’s going to handle the rigorous pace of her upcoming tour.”
The source familiar with the situation told OK!: “Of course, she wants to take her mind off of it, but this is not a healthy option.”
Dion, who recently lost her mother, Thérèse Tanguay-Dion, is now mourning the passing of a dear family friend, Pierre Lacroix.
Dion said this about Lacroix, who was her late’s husband best friend: “I’m deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Pierre Lacroix. Pierre was Rene’s best friend, and we shared so many wonderful times together with him and his wife, Coco. What a privilege for us to have them in our lives. My thoughts are with Coco, and their sons Martin and Eric, along with their entire family.”
This is not the first time the singer was speculated to be dangerously thin, as back in 2007, she addressed the rumors surrounding her slim figure by stating she was lean all her life.
Despite the many heartaches in recent years and months, Dion is hopeful about life and is open to love again.
She confessed in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight: “Am I going to love again? I am in love; I am in love with my life; I am in love with my children. I’m in love with my work. I love what I do today even more than before. Am I going to have a partner in my life? We’ll stay tuned, and if I do, I will share it, and it would be a pleasure to share it.”
She added: “You evolve, and maybe sometimes you meet a friend, and it turns out into something bigger than that. Who knows, and maybe not? But I will let you know. I promise.”
The diva seems ready to enjoy life again.
