Meghan Markle Puts Prince Harry In A Tough Spot With Surprising Confession

Prince Harry Meghan Markle New Mission

Meghan Markle has saved the best for last. The former television star aired the last episode of her Confessions Of A Female Founder podcast, where she sat down with billionaire founder Sara Blakely of Spanx.

The conversation was primarily business-oriented, but it eventually shifted to the women’s experiences as mothers, including their pregnancies, children, and family life.

In a very subtle manner, Meghan Markle appears to have made a calculated strike against a long-running drama surrounding the name of her daughter, Princess Lilibet.

In her brief commentary, Markle made it clear that she and her husband did not need anyone else’s opinion when it came to picking the name for their children.

She believes that other people’s viewpoints are irrelevant and have no bearing on their choices. Meghan Markle said on her podcast: “You’re like, ‘What do you think?’ It’s no different — I will say this to every woman in the world or every person in the world who’s going to have a child — if you have an idea about what you are going to name that baby, you keep it so close to your heart until that baby is born and it’s named. Don’t ask anyone’s opinion.”

Markle’s comment fuels yet another fresh firestorm from royal supporters who were quick to bring up the long-standing back-and-forth between King Charles III, Queen Elizabeth II, and the Sussex couple when they announced that they had chosen the moniker Lilibet for their daughter.

Lilibet was the late Queen‘s childhood nickname, given to her by her father. Her Majesty further cherished the nickname because only her husband called her that.

While Prince Harry insisted that he asked his grandmother to use her intimate name, the Monarch and those close to her said that never occurred.

At the time, BBC reported the following on the name debacle: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not ask the Queen about naming their daughter Lilibet, ” a Palace source has told the BBC. The source disputed reports in the wake of the announcement of the name that Prince Harry and Meghan had spoken to the Queen before the birth.”

BBC royal correspondent Jonny Dymond reported: “Palace source tells BBC that the Queen was not asked by Meghan and Harry over the use of her childhood nickname; reports suggested Harry had sought permission from Queen to call newborn ‘Lilibet’; but Palace source says the Queen was “never asked.”

However, the Sussexes’ spokesperson slammed BBC by saying that they did call the Queen, and she gave her opinion and added: “The Duke spoke with his family in advance of the announcement – in fact, his grandmother was the first family member he called. During that conversation, he shared their hope of naming their daughter Lilibet in her honor. Had she not been supportive, they would not have used the name.”

Oddly, Markle might be throwing cold water on that statement because she made it clear that she and her husband did not need anyone’s permission to name their child.

That raises the question: did they seek the Queen’s approval or not? This has just become complicated?
