Prince William, who was already rattled by Prince Harry‘s upcoming memoir, will now be alarmed upon discovering that there might be some surprising news that will drop soon on that end.
Several reports from sources close to Prince Harry or the publishing company have revealed a big possibility that the highly anticipated tell-all book due out later this year might have been pushed back. The reason?
Prince Harry might wait after attending Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee for fresher and juicier content for the memoir.
Prince Harry signed a multi-million dollar contract with Penguin Random House for an explosive memoir set to be out in late 2022.
However, many royal observers and eager readers have noticed that there is yet to be an official publishing date.
According to The Sunday Times, it is uncertain that the book, which focuses on the highs and lows of the Duke of Sussex‘s life as a royal, a soldier, and a married father of two, will see the daylight this year.
When Prince Harry announced the memoir, the publisher stated that it was “tentatively scheduled for late 2022,” — but no date has yet been set.
When contacted by the British media, the publisher now says they cannot confirm “whether the book would still appear this year as planned.”
And a source close to Penguin added to The Sunday Times that there was “some uncertainty over the book’s publication date.”
The mystery around the memoir being written by the sixth in line to the British throne has sparked an exciting theory.
Royal expert Roya Nikkhah wrote a piece in The Time explaining that Prince Harry might have decided to delay the book because he does not want to steal the spotlight from Queen Elizabeth, who is celebrating her 70th year on the throne.
However, his decision to push back the memoir makes it possible to share a behind-the-scenes account of the events at the Platinum Jubilee.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and their children — Archie and Lilibet Diana — will be traveling to England next month to take part in the royal celebration in honor of the Queen.
The royal watcher shared: “It would provide Harry an opportunity to give his account of attending next month’s celebrations with Meghan and their children, the first time the Sussexes will have been reunited with the Royal Family for more than two years.”
The potential delay of the book will certainly not help the complicated relationship that now exists between Prince William and Prince Harry.
In a recent interview with 60 Minutes Australia, royal author Tina Brown explained that there is little communication between the brothers and that the memoir has not helped.
She claimed that the pending book has rattled the royals because they have no idea what to expect.
The writer said: “There is very little communication between Harry and William right now, very little. Unfortunately, the wounds of the Oprah [Winfrey] interview were deep, and then, of course, Harry’s kept it up since. He [Harry] keeps on, you know, throwing bombs actually.”
She added: “His announcement that he’s going to do his own truth-telling memoir really rattled the family tremendously because it’s sort of hanging over them now. They don’t know what he’s going to say, and they’re nervous about what it says”.
The brothers will not see much of each other during the Jubilee but are expected to attend one key religious event together alongside The Queen.
