Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been busy since they stepped down from their positions as working royals.
The couple has secured multiple lucrative deals to enjoy their wonderful lifestyle in the California sun in the exclusive Montecito area.
The former American actress turned full-time activist and the British prince have inspired and angered many with their interviews and appearances on podcasts.
Markle, the product of a Caucasian/African American marriage, has shed the spotlight on racism in the US and the UK.
Joined by her husband, they have unapologetically demanded that racial injustices against people of color be addressed.
Prince Harry and Markle are not afraid to use uncomfortable words such as slavery and colonialism while talking about the UK’s dark and humiliating past.
In 2020, Prince Harry and Markle shared one of their most controversial speeches during the Queen‘s Commonwealth Trust.
Prince Harry went straight to the issue of slavery by saying: “When you look across the Commonwealth, there is no way that we can move forward unless we acknowledge the past. So many people have done such an incredible job of acknowledging the past and trying to right those wrongs, but I think we all acknowledge there is so much more still to do. It’s not going to be easy, and in some cases it’s not going to be comfortable, but it needs to be done because guess what: Everybody benefits.”
He said: “When it comes to institutional and systemic racism, it’s there, and it stays there because someone, somewhere is benefiting from it.”
Markle added: “It’s not just in the big moments; it’s in the quiet moments where racism and unconscious bias lies and thrives. It makes it confusing for a lot of people to understand the role that they play in that, both passively and actively. We’re going to get there, and we have a lot of renewed faith and energy in that having had this conversation.”
Prince Harry and Markle tackled personal topics during their sit-down with Oprah Winfrey. The duo revealed that there was a lack of mental support in the Monarchy.
And racist comments were tolerated inside The Palace walls. Many have attacked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for staining or even destroying the Monarchy.
One of Prince Harry and Markle’s most prominent and loud critics is former TV host Piers Morgan.
Royal author and investigative journalist Tom Bower recently sat down with Morgan, and they lashed out at the renegade royals.
Bower told the host that Markle and Prince Harry “pose a real threat to the Royal Family.”
Piers Morgan further condemned Markle and Prince Harry by claiming they would ultimately destroy the Monarchy with accusations and revelations.
He said: “I think they are destroying a lot of the magic of the monarchy.”
However, some royal insiders and experts have laid out the counterargument that Meghan Markle and Harry are not destroying the Monarchy but are modernizing it — which was Prince Charles‘s plan and hope all along.
Markle and Prince Harry’s modernization of the Monarchy will ultimately ensure its survival.
Grant Harrold, a former butler to Prince Charles, told Insider: “I don’t believe for a second that Harry would intentionally try to destroy the Monarchy. I wouldn’t put it past him to want to modernize it… to make people aware of things that have gone on that are wrong.”
Whether Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, and the other royals will admit it, Prince Harry and Markle’s accusations and powerful speeches have led to significant changes in the Monarchy.
Harrold said: “..that the Palace’s HR department would likely use Meghan and Prince Harry’s feedback to improve the institution, just like any large company or organization would.”
Kristen Meinzer, a royal commentator, chimed in that Markle and her husband had influenced the Royal Family to look into some tough and uncomfortable issues they have “skirted around” for years.
Meinzer took Prince William as an example of a member of the royal family who is now openly addressing racism when he witnesses it.
The heir to the throne defended the black soccer players who were hit with thousands of racist insults during a terrible match in 2021.
Prince William stated: “I am sickened by the racist abuse aimed at England players after last night’s match. It is totally unacceptable that players have to endure this abhorrent behavior.”
Meinzer said at the time: “You [William] have the ability to condemn racism — not just in soccer — but when it’s directed at your own family members. Please use that power. It would speak volumes.”
She concluded her interview with Insider: “Meghan, as well as Harry, helped bring the Monarchy to this point. And if they survive to the next century, they’ll have the Sussexes to thank.”
Many believe that while unwilling, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing Prince Charles’s dirty job for him.
Before he ascends to the throne, it has been long reported that Prince Charles’s plan is to downsize and modernize the Monarchy.
Prince Harry and Markle are the ones bringing the issues to the surface with their incendiary comments and revelations.
Therefore, they will be the ones receiving backlash. Meanwhile, a grateful Prince Charles will reap the benefits of Prince Harry and Markle’s work — he will inherit a woke Monarchy that fights against racism, advocates for mental health, apologizes for past mistakes, and tackles injustices.
