Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are gearing up for what many are describing as a mini royal tour in Europe.
Last week, the power couple announced they have decided to attend two charity events in England and promote the 2023 Invictus Game in Germany.
Markle and her spouse will be under a lot of pressure to deliver during these appearances.
Firstly, their mini tour will undoubtedly be compared to the ones that Prince William and Kate Middleton undertake very often.
Secondly, the tour/trip will be filmed for Prince Harry and Markle’s upcoming and highly anticipated Netflix docuseries.
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were banned from filming during Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee; this time around, a Netflix camera crew will be following them around during their brief European tour.
Royal commenter Natalie Oliveri explained via Daily Express that Prince Harry and Markle will have the cameras rolling this time around because there are “no restrictions” from the royal family.
She shared: “It’s highly likely the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will bring a production crew with them to Germany and England in the coming weeks. After all, for this visit, they have no restrictions imposed by the royal family about what they can and cannot film.”
The royal commentator added: “Netflix cameras were reportedly banned from covering Prince Harry and Meghan’s visit during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June. Crews were not given official accreditation for the four-day weekend and warned they would be ‘moved on’ if spotted near the royal events. Next month, though, is expected to be very different, with no such rules being forced upon the Sussexes.”
Prince Harry and Markle, who remembered that they were booed the last time they made a public appearance in London, have decided to take measures this time around.
While Prince Harry and his wife were entering St Paul’s Cathedral for Queen Elizabeth’s Thanksgiving service, they were booed by the crowd.
Prince Harry and Markle are also afraid that they will not gather large crowds at the events like Prince William and Kate Middleton have been doing.
To make sure that their trip is a huge success, Prince Harry and Markle have decided to leak their itinerary to the media and public.
Charlotte Griffiths, The Mail on Sunday’s editor at large, informed MailPlus’ Palace Confidential that “the announcement of their tour was made to prevent the embarrassment of empty crowds at the events.”
Griffiths said: “I think they released these dates in advance because they want to give a chance for crowds to gather. Because, if they do have a Netflix crew with them, imagine how embarrassing it would be if there were just three people there waving. They want us to get all excited and talk about it, they want it to look like a royal tour.”
Time will tell if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can build on all of this attention.
