It was just a few weeks ago that King Charles III had his lavish coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
However, soon after the event took place, reports came out from a friend of Prince William in the Daily Beast, explaining that he believes that his coronation will be in about 20 years.
According to a close associate of the heir to the throne, he has already decided that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children — Archie and Lilibet — will not be invited.
Soon after the Daily Beast article, Prince William sat down for a lengthy interview ahead of his birthday, where he revealed his impressive and somewhat unrealistic future plans.
With his wife, Kate Middleton, by his side, Prince William plans to end homelessness, and he is making peace in the Middle East his life mission.
Many are baffled by Prince William’s announcement because the Monarch of England has no political power and is not allowed to push any laws or policies.
Some royal watchers have also been pushing the idea that King Charles should have a transition monarchy, meaning that he reigns for a few years and hands over the kingdom to his son.
These people believe that Prince William is younger, and he has a very popular and charismatic wife who can elevate the monarchy.
Although some would say otherwise after their disastrous Caribbean tour where they faced protesters asking for dialogues on racism and slavery.
This week, renowned royal expert Pauline Maclaran, professor of marketing and consumer research at Royal Holloway University, spoke to Express to explain that Prince William can halt his coronation plans because he is far from being ready to be King.
She revealed that Prince William should use the upcoming years as the Prince of Wales to better prepare himself for the heavy task of modernizing the monarchy.
The author shared the following argument: “I think many people already see him as ready to be King but in my view, he has more to learn in his quest to modernize the monarchy. This period where he is Prince of Wales will teach him a lot in this respect about what he can do for positive change without ruining the intrinsic mystique of the monarchy that is a core reason why people are drawn to them.”
Maclaran continued: “William displays more confidence and charisma than his father. Whereas Charles can sometimes appear uncertain or even reluctant about stepping into the limelight, William seems more outgoing and relaxed about the public nature of his position.”
She added: “William has a lot of charisma and the ability to reach out to people. He has a lot of his mother’s charm in this respect, and this very much helps his popularity.”
She revealed how Prince William’s current agenda will shape him into the King that England needs.
Maclaran stated: “William is very determined to make the Monarchy more relevant and fit for purpose in the 21st century. I think we will see him modernize more than his father and attempt to make the monarchy have a more positive value in the eyes of its public, particularly in terms of the younger demographic.”
The commentator also pointed out: “Causes like Earthshot and his more recent campaign on homelessness all feed into this agenda of trying to use the Monarchy’s influence to bring about positive environmental and social change.”
Prince William has more work to do.
