Kevin Federline is telling his ex-wife, Britney Spears, “You better work, girl.”
It has been confirmed via TMZ that the rumors and chatter were true after all — Kevin Federline decided to make the big move to Hawaii with his wife, Victoria Prince, and the two sons he shares with Britney Spears to get more money from the pop princess.
The former couple share two sons, Sean Preston, who will be 18 years old on September 14, and Jayden James, 16.
For weeks, the media and fans speculated that the former backup dancer, who has not worked since divorcing Britney Spears, relocated to the archipelago because he was hoping to extend the child support he is getting from Spears.
Kevin Federline insisted that it was because his wife, who is a former volleyball player, was offered a job at the sports department of a university in the state.
Nonetheless, the move looked rather suspicious for two reasons. Kevin Federline’s oldest son will turn 18 years old in three days.
Hawaii’s law requires child support payments until the age of 23. When Spears discovered that her former spouse had to abide by California laws to end child support at 18, she was said to be relieved.
An insider told the Daily Mail: “Britney is relieved that Sean is turning 18 on September 14 because she is tired of paying Kevin the insane amount of money he is getting. Britney is happy to help Sean and Jayden. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for her sons. But this would go directly to them after they turn 18 instead of Kevin.”
Well, not so fast, that is what Kevin Federline is saying. Federline has found another loophole to get Spears to add another $20,000 to the $40,000 she is already paying.
Now that the family lives in Hawaii, Federline has full custody of his two sons, which implies he can ask a judge to force Spears to pay more money.
The Blast explained: “Kevin is currently getting $40,000 per month for both Sean and Jayden, as per TMZ, which says that number was calculated when Britney and Kevin were both splitting custody of their two kids 50/50. However, the boys have seemingly chosen to spend more time with their father and haven’t spent much time with Britney in years.”
It is not known how Spears will react to the news.
