William and Kate’s New Home

Christmas is arriving early for the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Catherine Middleton (also known as Kate Middleton).

It was confirmed over the summer that the future King and Queen consort had decided they needed a fresh start and had outgrown their quiet and humble domain, Adelaide Cottage, on the Royal Windsor estate.

Their three children — Prince George, who is 12; Princess Charlotte, who is 10; and Prince Louis, who is 7 — had outgrown the space.

The four-bedroom cottage was deemed too small for the family of five, their many dogs, and the daily staff they require. The solution was to find a bigger home, and they have settled on the multi-million-pound Georgian mansion known as Forest Lodge.

The Accelerated Move to Forest Lodge

Despite some initial scandals regarding the eviction of people living in Forest Lodge and the necessity of kicking out residents in the nearby area to establish a 150-acre park for security purposes, the mission has been accomplished. The Prince and Princess of Wales will be relocating to their new eight-bedroom home in about three weeks.

Construction workers have been laboring day and night to upgrade and update the mansion, and the couple was surprised to discover that the renovation was progressing faster than previously imagined.

Instead of moving in December, the family is now set to relocate around November 5th, in time for Bonfire Night.

Leaving Behind Unhappy Memories

Sources close to Prince William and Kate Middleton spoke to The Daily Mail and explained that there is a deeper reason why the couple felt it was urgent to leave Adelaide Cottage for a new, “blank canvas” home. The couple suffered through a very rough couple of years, and the cottage now holds gloomy, dark, and painful memories for them.

They had barely moved into the cottage when Queen Elizabeth II passed away, making it a home where they had to mourn the late Queen. It was also at this residence that they suffered through the pages of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, which damaged Prince William’s reputation. In the book, Prince Harry wrote that Princess Kate was “cool” and not one for hugging, and he recounted an incident where his brother allegedly pushed him to the floor, resulting in bruises after he landed on a dog bowl. Furthermore, it was from the cottage that they had to witness the screening of Meghan and Harry‘s Netflix series, which contained horrific revelations about slavery and the monarchy’s failings as an institution toward minorities. It is alos the home where Kate Middleton discovered that she was battling cancer. While they did have some fun and happy memories in the cottage, it became a place of grueling and unhappy moments, which they are now eager to leave behind.

A royal source told the Mail: “It is hoped they will be in the new home in time for Bonfire Night. That will make a fun start for the children.’ ‘Adelaide Cottage really does have some difficult memories associated with it, sadly. They have experienced some of their most challenging times there… The family are really happy about this [move] and excited for a fresh start.”

Another insider added: “The builders have been working flat out, week-in, week-out, so that the family could move in as soon as possible. Christmas was always the deadline, but it’s great that it’s going to happen much earlier.’ Apparently, the princess has been thoroughly enjoying renovating Forest Lodge, sourcing much of the furniture and furnishings from UK companies, including Marina Mill in Kent, which she recently visited, trying her hand at textile printing.”

The outlet reported: “The couple moved their children from Kensington Palace to Berkshire in August 2022 to provide them with a more protected, rural upbringing and be close to William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. However she died within weeks of them moving in, the first in a series of family challenges which included the release of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s vitriolic Netflix series in December that year, followed by Prince Harry’s scathing memoir, Spare, the following January which signalled another series of attacks on the Royal Family, but particularly on William and Kate. Then last year both the princess and King Charles III were diagnosed with cancer. Kate underwent a gruelling course of preventative chemotherapy, with William describing the experience of supporting his wife and protecting their children as “brutal.”

A Delightful New Focus

The move marks an uplifting moment for Princess Kate to finally focus on something happy and joyful after a grueling 18 months, which included her battle with cancer and subsequent chemotherapy. The source explained to The Daily Mail that she is delighted to finally be able to start shopping, renovating, and redecorating the new mansion and has been having a great time looking for furniture, antiques, and paintings to make the place a home.

The source claimed: “I think it’s been quite a fun process for her. She loves interior design and is a big champion of the British textiles industry. After all, this will be their forever home. They are ready as a family to move forwards.”

Funding Themselves

For those who constantly trouble or harass the couple for using taxpayers’ money or moving to fancy mansions and wasting the British people’s money, the couple wants everyone to know that they are funding the move themselves. The money for every piece of furniture and every painting will be either rented or purchased with their personal funds, and they will additionally be paying a massive amount of market rent to the Crown Estate.
