A Russian “bodybuilder” named Kirill Tereshin and commonly known as “Popeye,” “Bazooka Arm,” and “Synthol Kid,” recently rose to fame for his heavy use of Synthol, resulting in abnormally large arms that many have described as “freakish.”
And while the man’s antics were a comical attraction for many, not a lot of people expected him to try his hand at a professional fighting match.
And yet, that is precisely what 23-year-old Tereshin decided to do recently, going up against Youtuber and blogger Oleg Mongol in an MMA match.
The match did not last long, as Mongol, who is 20 years older, won by submission in the very first round and after barely three minutes.
To Tereshin’s credit, his initial punches did manage to get through for the most part, but the man was clearly unprepared on the defensive side, and was quickly pinned to the cage and brought to the ground.
It did not take long for Mongol to choke him and win the fight. It is not the first time Tereshin has tried to prove that his synthetic muscles are more than just a cosmetic feature.
Still, his previous fight against Vasiliy Kamotskiy was similarly unsuccessful. The Russian slapping contestant only needed one punch to bring down his opponent, much to the amusement of many observers.
However, while some have been finding the situation quite hilarious, others have been worried about the health of Tereshin, both his mental as well as physical one.
Physicians have expressed concerns that he might eventually lose movement in both arms, and he will be unable to accomplish even basic tasks with them.
Dr. Yuriy Serebryanskiny warned the man with the 24-inch biceps by saying: “He could lose movement in his arms, the muscles could turn into ballast that he won’t be able to use to lift things. He could end up disabled.”
In an August interview, Tereshin shared: “I used to go to the gym for two years before being called up for military service. In the army, I was worried that I would have a hard time and lose weight, so I decided to try Synthol oil. When I finished military service, I began to transform myself and did everything at home. My mom was very worried about what I was doing, but we are okay now that she knows Synthol can be removed. In the beginning, I wanted to inject Synthol oil into other parts of my body, but then the problems started, and I stopped using it.”
The Instagram influencer is trying to raise money so he can go to England for treatment.
