Beyoncé and her husband, JAY Z, teamed up for the first time for a major ad campaign inspired by the classic 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. However, they were upstaged spectacularly.
Beyoncé and her billionaire spouse have entered a partnership to be the faces of Tiffany & Co’s “About Love” campaign.
The powerful duo appeared in a stunning photoshoot where the Texan singer channeled her inner Audrey Hepburn.
The legendary entertainer wore a figure-hugging backless little black dress that featured sheer panels around the hips.
The artist wore her blonde hair in a fancy updo and had a few strands cascading in the front.
Beyoncé completed the look with a show stopper — she became the first black woman to wear the famous 128.54-carat Tiffany Diamond.
The yellow diamond, which was discovered in South Africa in 1877 and is valued at $30 million, had previously only been worn by four women: Mary Whitehouse, Audrey Hepburn, Lady Gaga, and Gal Gadot.
The rapper turned mogul looked elegant in a fancy black suit, white shirt, and bow tie.
Another masterpiece that took center stage in the ad for the luxury jewelry company is a never-before-seen Jean-Michel Basquiat painting.
Basquiat painted the masterpiece in 1982, and it is believed to be an homage to Tiffany because it was done in the company’s signature robins egg blue shade.
Alexandre Arnault, the EVP of the company, said this about the painting: “We don’t have any literature that says he made the painting for Tiffany. But we know a little bit about Basquiat. We know his family. We did an exhibition of his work at the Louis Vuitton Foundation a few years back. We know he loved New York, and that he loved luxury and he loved jewelry. My guess is that the [blue painting] is not by chance. The color is so specific that it has to be some kind of homage.”
He went on to speak about the concept of the ad: “She’s the best singer in the world, and he’s the best rapper in the world, hands down. And we’re the best jewelry company in the world, right? So we kind of had to marry ourselves together to produce this. We wanted them to be seen as no one has ever seen them before. We wanted to go behind the scenes and try to capture those intimate moments that are so difficult to see and find.”
He also revealed their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, makes an appearance in one of the promotional ads that will be released soon.
Arnault stated: “You’ll see the magic of them loving each other. It’s quite incredible. Also, their daughter was on set, and she appears in one of the videos. You see the special bond that they all have together, which is amazing.”
Arnault promised a video/short film that includes Beyoncé singing “Moon River” to her husband.
