There is high speculation that Prince Harry and his spouse, Meghan Markle, may travel to London to spend the year-end holidays with the royal family’s matriarch, Queen Elizabeth II, and start healing old wounds.
The power couple had been thinking about spending Christmas in the UK, according to recently surfaced reports.
However, now, they might feel a sense of urgency to leave their California mansion and be with the aging Queen.
Last week, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the 95-year-old monarch was admitted to the hospital due to an unspecified ailment.
After the overnight hospital stay, Queen Elizabeth was forced to cancel several events and trips after receiving medical advice to rest.
Following Queen Elizabeth’s night in the hospital, it is now being predicted that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, might hop over to Europe with their two young children — Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from their royal duties in early 2020. While Prince Harry has returned to London twice, Meghan Markle and her son, Archie, have not.
As for baby Lilibet Diana, who was born in California in June of this year, she has yet to meet any of her royal relatives, including her great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and her grandfather, Prince Charles.
The Duke of Sussex and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have not spent a Christmas with the British royal family since 2018.
Recently, royal expert Katie Nicholl explained that Queen Elizabeth would want to spend the holidays with the Sussexes and meet baby Lilibet, who carries her name despite the family drama.
The famous author added that the trip would begin the healing process between the American and British clans.
The royal commentator explained: “Christmas is being looked at as an opportunity. There may be a softening, which could pave the way for a healing of the family rift. It’s certainly what the Queen wants. Prince Charles would like to see his grandchildren. A meet-up suggests they hope to move on and sort things out.”
She went on to reveal how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hinted that they always wanted to come back to England: “When Harry and Meghan left, they made it clear they didn’t want to give up their home in Britain. They still have Frogmore Cottage, and their plan was to come back to the UK.”
Queen Elizabeth had her first overnight stay in hospital in eight years, where she underwent “preliminary investigations” for a bodily disorder.
Her Majesty‘s stay at London’s King Edward VII private hospital was “not Covid related.” She has since returned to Windsor Castle, and it is said that she “remains in good spirits.”
The world’s longest-reigning monarch has been able to take part in official engagements virtually. However, under her medical team’s request, a reluctant Queen Elizabeth canceled an official trip to Northern Ireland.
On Tuesday, in a statement, palace officials announced that Elizabeth II would not attend the COP26 climate conference in Scotland.
Queen Elizabeth is said to be “regretfully and disappointed not to attend the reception.” Last month, the Queen was seen using a walking stick in public for the first time “for comfort.”
But that does not mean she plans on slowing down any time soon.
She recently refused to be named “Oldie of the Year” by a British magazine, citing her mantra in life “you are as old as you feel.”
The Queen is eager to get back to her ceremonial responsibilities with either a child or grandchild by her side.
