Prince Harry did not think twice about making a controversial move to protect Meghan Markle despite being fully aware that it would stampede on a deal his father had landed.
A reporter, who traveled with Prince Charles during his last trip in the Middle East, has decided to speak out.
Robert Jobson, who accompanied Prince Charles to Oman in 2016, has appeared in the first episode of the much-talked-about BBC documentary called The Princes and the Press.
The entire royal family, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, and Prince William, has issued a statement slamming the people behind the program for the revelations that they are making to the world.
This week, millions tuned in to discover more about the British royal family.
Viewers learned that Prince Charles was shocked when his youngest son shared a statement to the press without warning him.
The same week, the Duke of Cornwall embarked on the official foreign trip, the British media confirmed that Prince Harry and the American star were dating.
Prince Charles, accompanied by his wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles, had secured a deal with the journalist.
Jobson promised to give Prince Charles the front page in exchange for an interview to talk about his royal duties.
However, the agreement with the Duke of Cornwall was killed because of the spectacular statement published by Prince Harry.
The reporter stated: “When you’re on a trip, say with the Prince of Wales in the Middle East, and all of your negotiations for a week to get the chat with the Prince of Wales, to say ‘We guarantee you the splash,’ all goes out the window because Harry releases this big statement about the press and about their treatment of Meghan was outrageous.”
A disappointing Prince Charles had an honest reaction to Prince Harry’s statement.
The journalist said: “Of course, that then has to be page one, and I’m looking at the press guy for the Prince saying, ‘What can I do?'”
Prince Charles said this after losing his hard-fought deal: “Well, I thought I was going to be on page one that was the deal here.”
Rhiannon Mills from Sky News, who took part in the documentary, revealed that Prince Harry broke the rules with the move.
She said: “You do not do anything while another member of the Royal Family is on tour that could possibly overshadow that tour. Of course, Prince Harry confirmed he was dating Meghan Markle blew any coverage about Prince Charles completely out the water.”
The fiery statement by the Communications Secretary to Prince Harry read: “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.”
It added: “Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm…This is not a game – it is her life and his.”
The second episode of the program will air the following Monday.
