Prince Charles feels hurt and misunderstood after being accused by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of having racist tendencies for raising questions about his biracial grandchildren’s appearance.
Prince Charles, who fought against the damaging claims, is now taking the high road towards making peace with Prince Harry and his daughter-in-law.
Prince Charles puts an end to the war with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Prince Charles and his youngest son, Prince Harry, have not spoken for several months. Prince Harry found himself in the same situation with his older brother, Prince William.
Prince Charles and Prince Harry drifted apart after announcing his decision alongside his wife to step back as senior members of the British royal family in January of 2020.
The move to California was followed by a series of painful and brutally honest revelations made by the Duke of Sussex and his spouse about the royals.
The so-called truth bombs pushed Prince Charles to cut off communication with his son for several months.
A highly placed royal insider told Page Six that cooler heads have eventually prevailed, with the Duke of Cornwall slowly but surely making his way back to Prince Harry with this simple gesture — answering his phone calls.
The publication has confirmed that the two royals are finally talking again.
The person with knowledge of the situation shared: “Charles was hugely hurt when Harry and Meghan just dumped it on the family they were giving up their roles and moving abroad. I don’t think [Harry and Charles] talked for a good while, but now the channels of communication are open.”
The source added that things are not quite back to normal as yet and added: “I don’t think it’s all roses. It’s not like they are sitting down for a heart-to-heart on the phone once a week.”
Prince Charles is taking baby steps towards peace because he has been left heartbroken over the bombshell claims made by his son.
Prince Charles is hurt by the revelations
During his many interviews, Prince Harry poured out his heart and created chaos for the royal relatives residing in England, especially for Prince Charles.
He said he was grateful for his newfound freedom and claimed that his brother and father were trapped in the monarchy.
He said: “I am part of the system with them, I always have been, but I guess — and I’m very aware of this — my brother can’t leave that system, but I have. My father and my brother are trapped. They don’t get to leave, and I have huge compassion for that.”
Prince Harry attacked his father’s parenting style and confessed that he failed to protect him against what he described as “a cycle of genetic pain and suffering.”
The prince turned activist shared: “Just because you suffered, it doesn’t mean that your kids have to suffer … That doesn’t make sense.”
Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle told Oprah Winfrey that a royal family member had questions about their unborn children’s skin color.
The power couple declined to reveal the identity of a family member.
However, last week, the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II was accused of being the person who made inappropriate race-related remarks about the Sussexes’ unborn children by royal author Christopher Andersen.
Prince Charles denied the author’s claim, with a spokesperson for the heir apparent issuing a statement that said the account is “fiction and not worth further comment.”
Royal expert Nick Bullen recently revealed to Fox News that the patriarch is hurt by Prince Harry’s words and added: “I do know from people close to him that he has been very hurt over the last few months about all the revelations.”
It is unknown if the detente will last — in late 2022, Prince Harry will publish a bombshell tell-all book containing more extraordinary claims.
