While Kim Kardashian might have had a very rocky divorce from Kanye West, she will forever consider him family and take measures to protect him.
In the latest episode of the Hulu hit series, The Kardashians, the billionaire mogul could be seen preparing for her hosting gig on Saturday Night Live with the help of the cast and crew.
Kardashian, a perfectionist, was diligent at work rehearsing some of the jokes written for the monologue when she stumbled on one that had the potential to hurt Kanye West.
The TV personality did not share the joke that she deemed inappropriate in the series but did reveal that it focused on the split.
However, she did explain that it was supposed to be featured on the skit called “People’s Kourt,” and it had something to do with Kanye West asking for her to be his lawyer during their heated divorce process.
Because she disapproved of the punchline, Kardashian requested that the joke be cut from the sketch.
Kim Kardashian explained that while she is OK to poke fun at her family on Saturday Night Live, she was aware that there were lines she should not cross.
The reality TV star said that she would not mock certain aspects of her life with Kanye West or their divorce because it would hurt him.
She confessed: “The divorce is so sensitive for him. I’m already saying that part in the monologue, I don’t want to like… maybe I could talk to Chris and think of something funny. I could just tell him, ‘Hey! This is super sensitive to him.'”
She added: “I was afraid of hurting people’s feelings. It doesn’t mean that because we didn’t work out that we don’t have a great love and respect for each other.”
Despite Kim Kardashian’s decision not to trigger Kanye West with certain topics, she had some fun at his expense when she said this in her opening monologue: “I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So, when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to one thing: his personality.”
Kim Kardashian later sat down with Amy Schumer, where she revealed one of the jokes that she found offensive and opted to remove from the monologue.
The zinger focused on her sister, Khloé Kardashian, and her cheating baby daddy, Tristan Thompson.
Here is the joke about Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson: “Oh, Khloé, you have the biggest heart. It’s so big it has room for Tristan and all of his side pieces.”
While Kim Kardashian is enjoying a full-blown romance with Pete Davidson — she has gone out of her way on multiple occasions to avoid hurting Kanye West.
Not the same could be said about West, who has delivered rant after rant about Kardashian being a failed parent.
