Grieving grandson Prince Harry has released an official tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who died last week at the age of 96.
The Prince is currently in London with his wife, Meghan Markle. The couple was supposed to participate in multiple charity events but canceled because of the devastating news.
The first two days after the passing of Her Majesty were rather complicated for Prince Harry and Markle, who are paying for their sins — including their many bombshell interviews.
Prince William and the newly-proclaimed King Charles III snubbed Prince Harry, who was forced to find a private jet to get to Scotland when The Queen died.
Once in Balmoral Castle, Prince Harry was not invited to King Charles and Prince William’s private dinner.
However, once the family returned to London, the royal family put their differences aside. Prince William and Kate Middleton invited Prince Harry and Markle to participate in a Windsor walkabout.
Soon after, Prince Harry issued an emotional and personal statement via his Archewell Foundation paying tribute to Her Majesty.
The former soldier spoke fondly about his grandmother, who gave him memories and taught him lessons that would last a lifetime.
He thanked her for embracing Markle and meeting his two children, Archie and Lilibet Diana.
The Duke of Sussex wrote: “Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings-from, my earliest childhood memories with you to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.”
In a surprising move, Prince Harry extended an olive branch by more or less bowing to the new King, his father.
Prince Harry went on to say in his tribute: “And as it comes to first meetings, we now honor my father in his new role as King Charles III. Thank you for your commitment to service. Thank you for your sound advice.”
Royal observers noted that Prince Harry did not mention his stepmother, Camilla Parker Bowles. She is the new Queen Consort and has been by her husband’s side daily during this challenging period.
It is well documented that there has always been tension between Prince Harry and Bowles stemming from her alleged affair with then-Prince Charles.
Many believe that Bowles contributed to the end of Prince Charles’s marriage to Princess Diana. Earlier this year, Prince Harry made his feelings about Bowles known to the public when Queen Elizabeth proclaimed that she would be Queen.
Prince Harry never reacted publicly to the announcement. However, now, he is put in a position where he will not only have to acknowledge the new Queen, but he has to bow to her.
One well-placed palace source explained to Page Six that Prince Harry and all the others would have to follow the protocol and added: “The personal impact is likely the protocol changes that roll into action almost immediately. The family will now have to bow or curtsy to King Charles and Queen [Consort] Camilla.”
Majesty managing editor Joe Little also told the publication: “It would be the protocol to bow to the new King and Queen. Whether that happened under such circumstances [on Thursday or Friday morning] is debatable, but any time the royal family meets the new King and Queen, the done thing would be to bow or curtsy to them.”
Bowles is Queen, which implies that Prince Harry will have no choice but to bow in public.
There is a possibility that Prince Harry will share his true feelings about Bowles in his upcoming tell-all book.
