When Camilla Parker Bowles entered the royal family, there was a lot of noise and drama.
While King Charles III was in love and had yearned to spend his life with Bowles, the situation was more complex with his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
The young princes saw their stepmother as the woman who played a part at the end of their parents’ marriage.
Princess Diana spoke on multiple occasions about the fact that three people were in the relationship.
Having the person who caused their mother pain in their lives must have been more than complicated.
However, almost two decades later, Prince William is a believer in the idea that time is a healer regarding his relationship with Camilla, Queen Consort.
Not the same can be said for Prince Harry, who made it clear that he has yet to embrace the Queen Consort.
It has been confirmed that Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton, have an excellent rapport with Camilla, Queen Consort.
According to the royal author Angela Levin, who has a new book about King Charles’s wife, the bond between Prince William and Camilla, the Queen Consort, is “grown up.”
Via The Telegraph, the royal journalist shared: “Today, the Queen Consort gets on well with the new Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales. An insider might call it “a very grown-up rapport,” which basically means their relationship works, but they are not in each other’s pockets. Her relationship with Prince Harry, however, developed somewhat differently.”
However, Prince William has put some limits on the rapport that he has with his stepmother.
The heir to the throne has made it clear that Camilla Parker Bowles is not a step-grandmother to his children — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, who he shares with Kate Middleton.
Camilla, the Queen Consort, who prefers to focus on family unity and the King‘s happiness, has accepted Prince William’s agreement. Additionally, she is fond of the three youngsters.
The royal author said via InStyle: “William has made it clear that Camilla is the wife of his father but not a step-grandmother to his children. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis know that they have “two grandfathers but only one grandmother.”
The children’s grandparents are King Charles and Michael and Carole Middleton.
Prince William took the decision because he has been doing his best to keep his mother’s legacy alive with his charity works, and through the grandchildren, she never got to meet and see grow.
Levin continued: “William and Harry were 23 and 20, respectively, when Camilla officially became their stepmother in 2005. She was more of a friendly grown-up they occasionally saw at royal gatherings. She tried to be encouraging rather than influential.”
The Queen Consort will always have more work to do when it comes to her relationship with Prince William and Prince Harry.
