Kate Middleton Offers Camilla, Queen Consort, A Shoulder To Lean On During King Charles’s First Major Engagement

Prince William can always count on his wife, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, to rise to the occasion.

The popular Princess of Wales has become the rock of the Royal Family after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September.

As King Charles III tries to reshape the British monarchy, the mother of three is that calming presence that reassures everyone.

In the upcoming weeks, her role will be even more important to counter the narratives that will come from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will soon release a documentary through Netflix about their life post-Megxit. Prince Harry will publish his tell-all memoir Spare on January 10 via Penguin Random House.

The two projects put together are expected to set the Royal Family in a negative light. Middleton, with her loyal side, will probably be more visible to show that the monarchy is a force for good despite all the negative things that are being said.

Behind the scenes, she will also be there for King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, as they face criticism over things they have done in the past. There is no escaping; Prince Harry will cause some damage to his relatives.

However, his sister-in-law is ready to meet the moment and limit the impact. She proved this again on Sunday during Remembrance Day. The Royal Family was at Whitehall for a ceremony. It was King Charles’s first major event as King.

According to reports, Camilla Parker Bowles was very anxious. Although it was her first big outing as Princess of Wales, Catherine took time to reassure Camilla, Queen Consort.

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman told The Mirror that Princess Kate led the way and told Camilla, “Shall we go in now?” before exiting the balcony of the Foreign Office, which overlooks the Cenotaph.

Judi James, a second body expert, told the same publication: “Watching from the balcony, Camilla combined signals of regal duty with some rituals of anxiety. Standing beside Kate, she performed a subtle smile of an acknowledgment as her wreath was laid, and as she turned to Kate on their way from the balcony, she threw a rather fond smile as Kate spoke to her.”

James also added: “Otherwise, though, there were gestures of open anxiety from Camilla. She looked unable to keep totally still and spoke to Kate at one point but while looking straight ahead rather than turning to her.”

The expert concluded: “Kate turned her head quickly in a gesture of polite concern. Kate’s calm and very still body language was in contrast to Camilla’s nervous movements that showed the most in the fluttering of her hymn sheet as her two hands fiddled with it throughout.”

It was a very important moment for the new Sovereign, and Kate played her part to perfection.
