Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, asked, pleaded, and even demanded that King Charles III and Prince William apologize for a long list of sins that they have committed against them.
This week, the California royals have finally received an update on that apology, which is not favorable.
According to one royal expert with links to Buckingham Palace, King Charles has a lot of love for his son and daughter-in-law, but hell will freeze over before he says sorry.
Another royal author claimed that Prince Harry and Markle botched any opportunity they had to receive an apology from His Majesty.
In a new interview, royals expert Richard Fitzwilliams claimed King Charles and Prince William would not give Prince Harry and Markle that satisfaction and added: “Over the last month, we’ve had five trailers and two releases of three hour-long episodes on Netflix. One of the trailers was released just in time to spoil the second day of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ trip to Boston.”
He added: “You’ve got a form of Sussex-orientated circus from a couple who, yes, was deeply unhappy as members of the Royal Family. They felt they weren’t protected, they felt they were briefed against, and now they want an apology. That is something they are not going to get.”
Talking to Fox News, royal expert Shannon Felton Spence explained that King Charles could have made an effort — privately via a Zoom call.
However, the mea culpa that The Duke of Sussex and his spouse are hoping for is no longer possible because of the revelations made in the docuseries and what will be shared in Spare.
The royal commentator had more details as to why the Royal Family will not acknowledge their fault or error in this transatlantic drama.
Spence said the pair mishandled the matter and added: “If all they wanted was an apology, they could have gotten that over a Zoom two years ago. They wanted to use the situation to its full extent to set up their new lives… It’s not that I don’t think a summit will happen, [but] what exactly is it going to change? Nothing. And the royal family has made that clear.”
The author continued: “There is blame to be shared here. Reputations have been hurt all around. There wasn’t a ‘summit’ during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral [in September]. They knew that the Netflix doc and [Harry’s] book were upcoming, and there was no getting out of that. I fear that it will be too late once we see what’s in the book, which is reportedly very unflattering to [Camilla], the queen consort. The royal family has made it clear that they are not playing this game. When they didn’t respond [to the docuseries], we saw exactly what their strategy is – fly above the drama. Harry and Meghan will outplay their hand… in the near future, probably with the book.”
With the release of the tell-all memoir, Prince Harry is currently dominating the news globally.
