It has been reported that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been facing some tension since the release of Spare and the damage caused by South Park.
The great divide between Markle and her spouse has led to at least one surprising and brutal decision. According to the latest reports, Markle is about to give King Charles III what he wants.
The mother of two, embarrassed and shunned during her last two trips to London, has been searching for ways to skip King Charles’s coronation ceremony.
The event is set to take place on May 6 — the same day as Prince Harry and Markle’s son, Archie‘s 4th birthday.
Sources, who spoke to the media, explained that Markle feels she has been left out of the coronation and is uninterested in attending.
A person familiar with the situation told the Spectator via the Daily Mail: “Meghan Markle feels ‘excluded’ from the King’s Coronation, meaning she and Prince Harry may not attend as a result. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are both said to be ‘weighing up’ whether or not to fly over for the ceremony on May 6.”
Recently, a source close to King Charles confirmed that there are no roles for Prince Harry and Markle if they attend the state and religious event.
King Charles banned the pair from appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after the ceremony. Prince Harry and Markle have also been told to avoid Prince William and Kate Middleton during the coronation.
The royal insider told the Sunday Times: “As things stand, there is no role for Harry in the service.”
Royal sources say that Prince Harry and Markle put themselves in that situation with the horrific allegations and revelations in the Netflix series and tell-all book Spare.
The royal insider told the publication the renegades’ actions hurt King Charles and added: “The King is no less hurt because he personally hasn’t been the focus of the majority of the anger and frustration of the book. He feels it as keenly, it is no less painful for him because the focus is on his son rather than him. There is a lot of family pain.”
Meanwhile, the heir to the throne will have the biggest role in the coronation ceremony.
Dr. George Gross, Visiting Research Fellow in Theology at King’s College London, revealed Prince William’s role: “I suspect he’ll be more prominent [than other working members of the Royal Family], but there isn’t a set role for the Prince of Wales because there wasn’t always a Prince of Wales at the time of the Coronation. So it’s not a written-in role, but I am sure he will have a prominent place. And they have flexibility. They could write something in to give him a greater role, but it’s not necessary there in the service.”
Markle might offer the King an exit ramp in the drama with Prince Harry.
