King Charles III is a shrewd businessman; however, his latest gross and dirty business plans regarding the Sandringham estate have been exposed, creating a scandal and a nuisance for locals and quickly becoming a potential source of conflict for Prince William and Princess Kate at their home.
However, he has a clear message to those concerned by his decision: “It is business, nothing personal.”
Charles’s Lucrative Approach to Estate Management
Over the past decades, King Charles’s bold approach to business has grown the Duchy by billions. However, his latest plans for the Sandringham estate have caused concern among local residents and the Royal Family.
King Charles has proposed building a large slurry pit on the Sandringham estate.
The “Enormous” Plan Exposed
Legal documents obtained by the Daily Mail from King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council show that King Charles plans to build a new, very large slurry pit on the Sandringham estate, which he manages.
- The facility is expected to hold more than 2 million gallons of manure or liquid animal waste.
- The pit will cover an area of 86 by 46 meters.
A Royal Nuisance
The manure storage facility will be built close to Prince William’s home, Anmer Hall. The Georgian property is less than a mile from the planned pit. This has already raised concerns among local residents and could lead to a dispute within the Royal Family.
One neighbor told the Daily Mail: “Everyone is worried it will create a massive stink. Goodness knows what William and Kate think about it. It is a bit ironic that the landowner responsible for the plans is William’s father, the King.”
In addition to local residents, councillors have also objected to the business proposal. County councillor Stuart Dark said the pit could be rejected completely or approved only with strict conditions.
King Charles’s Business Priority
Some claim that King Charles, as the landowner, will not step in despite complaints about the bad smell because he is focused on the profitable business deal linked to the estate’s farming operations.
The King is known for supporting organic and sustainable farming on the 20,000-acre Sandringham estate. To keep growing the monarchy’s business, he sees the slurry pit as part of a long-term plan to use organic fertilizer.
Royal sources say that King Charles is continuing what he has done for the past five decades: putting the estate’s financial and environmental goals ahead of the comfort of his heir and other relatives.
A Message of Cold Calculation
Prince William, his wife, Kate Middleton, and others should know that his decision is based only on managing the estate’s finances and environment, and he sees it as a practical necessity. In other words, “it’s an unpleasant or even dirty job”, but someone has to do it.
This practical approach affects his son and daughter-in-law, showing that in the Royal Family, business and duty can sometimes come before personal relationships.
Prince William is unconvinced and unimpressed by the proposal because his family’s peace is not a business expense to be sacrificed.
