Details about Cristhian Bahena Rivera‘s immigration status has sparked a national debate and lots of confusion and President Donald Trump, who is receiving negative headlines, has decided to weigh in.
Rivera has confessed to the authorities to the killing of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts. The undocumented immigrant murdered Tibbetts on July 18 while she went on for a night job.
The Mexican man said he wanted to run with Tibbetts who got scared and threatened to call the police. The criminal has been in the United States between four and eight years.
It has been revealed that he was an exemplary employee at the Yarrabee Farms in Brooklyn, Iowa. While authorities and Tibbetts’ relatives searched for her frantically for over a month, Rivera continued to show up to the farm where he took care of the cows.
The 24-year-old father of one had been using another name to receive his paycheck from the company for the past four years.
Dane Lang, the manager of Yarrabee Farms, revealed that Rivera obtained the job in 2014 with the following documents — an out-of-state government-issued photo identification along with a matching Social Security card.

The documents, which were probably stolen, checked out via the Social Security Administration’s employment’s verification system.
The company that belongs to a prominent Iowa GOP family did not use E-Verify to confirm the authenticity of the documents.
Lang said the other employees were shocked both by the murder and fake name. Lang told local media: “Our employee is not who he said he was. This was shocking to us.”
Allan Richards, the attorney representing Rivera, is in a war of words with Trump who opted to politicize the horrific death of a young woman in order to blast Democrats and demand a wall between the two countries.
Richards said the immigration system needs to be fixed and claimed the Mexican national is a hard worker with a clean rap sheet and should be presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
Richards wrote in a court filing: “Sad and Sorry Trump has weighed in on this matter in national media which will poison the entire possible pool of jury members.”
Trump said at a political event: “You heard about it today with the illegal alien coming in, come in, very sadly, from Mexico, and you saw what happened to this incredible, beautiful young woman. It should’ve never happened. He is illegally in our country.”
Tibbetts’ family seems to have a different stance when it comes to immigration.
