Activist T.I. is beyond upset, and so is his wife, Tiny Harris, after TMZ published an article that focused on the cause of death of Precious Harris whose real name is Antoinette Chapman.
The article revealed that according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, Precious died after a car accident due to “cocaine toxicity,” that triggered an irregular heartbeat.
After the media outlet published the story, T.I. blasted their reporting and forced it to remove the controversial piece and issue an apology for sharing the autopsy details of the ATL actor’s sister who became a celebrity by association.
They also opted to focus on the legacy and many charitable works that Precious has done in her life.
T.I. bashed those disrespecting his sister’s memory with a sweet picture and a note that read: “Rest Well Lil Sis…WE GOT U!!! Weapons may form… But They WILL NOT prosper. Not Today!!!! You were too good to too many for the US to let any hurt harm or danger come to you or your legacy. #LongLivePrecious”
Tiny added: “Damn right! ❤️❤️”
People on social media have reacted to the story in a fiery manner; most say let the woman rest in peace, while a few argue that she was famous because she made a few appearances on T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle.
This Instagrammer wrote in T.I.P.’s comment section: “She is a celebrity, whether you agree or not! She was frequently on a tv show. Even if you don’t consider her a celeb, she was one by association.”
This fan of the Harris clan shared more details on why the documents were made public: “Unfortunately, in some states, the cause of one’s death is public record. In this case, this may be more of an unethical very sensitive thing w T.I. It’s like any person who dies as a result of a car accident; the public is made aware of the findings after the toxicology report is released and it issued. They replaced the original story with a retraction, her accolades, and an apology. The damage is done once you put something on the internet it’s never really deleted.”
A person, who received help from Precious, defended her: “Of course, they deleted the story. Deep down they know they’re wrong, but it’s too late now everybody in America knows now. Your sister helped me! She even came & got my son when I was going through postpartum & took him to your house & kept him so I can sleep! Precious is Precious to us all thanks for sharing her! ?”
This backer shared prayers with the mourning family: “How distasteful to put all of that extra stuff out in the media! However, the measure of who she was cannot be determined by how she passed! What really matters is how she lived, and NOTHING done or said at this point can diminish that!!! I am so sick of people. Allow this lady to rest in peace. What she did in her life was her business. She did not hurt anybody. Praying for you all.”
Some observers say that T.I. might have turned the report into a much bigger issue.
