Melania Trump‘s push for her husband to run a political campaign with class has been denied.
Ahead of Donald Trump‘s biggest night in the political arena, he has confirmed that teaching old dogs new tricks is not possible.
The former president is set to participate in what is expected to be a historic political event, the most-watched debate in history, against Vice President Kamala Harris.
With only one debate scheduled between Trump and Harris, the performance of each candidate will be pivotal in swaying undecided voters, appealing to donors, and rallying their supporters.
Just as Trump did when he went up against Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, he is using scare tactics with lewd comments about Harris’s past, looks, and dating life.
He also questions her background and accomplishments. Trump has repeated the false claim that Harris did not pass the bar to become a lawyer.
The billionaire, who believes he was given carte blanche to be sexist, claimed that Harris is a nasty woman. Divorced from reality, Trump even claimed that Harris does not want men to eat red meat.
However, Trump’s nastiest tactic to rattle Harris might be to leak an email he received from ABC — the network hosting the debate.
Trump’s team has been claiming that Harris is running scared and is, therefore, desperate to change the debate rules. Trump and Harris initially agreed to the terms set for the Joe Biden and Trump debate on CNN.
According to the rules, during the 90 minutes, there would be no audience, no pre-written notes or props, and muted mics when a candidate was not speaking.
To support the story, Trump’s campaign shared an email from ABC News Chief Counsel Eric Lieberman reiterating both campaigns’ agreed-upon rules.
Trump’s campaign told The Post: “At this point, Team Harris is going to be taking an ‘L’ when they finally accept, as the debate rules aren’t changing, or they’ll take an even bigger ‘L’ if they back out of the debate because the Dana Bash/CNN interview goes poorly.”
Sitting down with Sean Hannity this week, Trump continued with his cunning tactics of raising questions about the fairness and integrity of the debate.
Trump revealed that ABC is a fake network that would feed his opponent “questions in advance.”
Harris’s campaign hit back by saying that while she believes the rules of the debate will hurt her, she will be present because she does not want to jeopardize the only chance American voters will get to hear the two candidates make their cases.
The letter read: “Vice President Harris, a former prosecutor, will be fundamentally disadvantaged by this format, which will serve to shield Donald Trump from direct exchanges with the Vice President.”
Ii went on to say: “Notwithstanding our concerns, we understand that Donald Trump is a risk of skipping the debate altogether, as he has threatened to do previously if we do not accede to his preferred format. We do not want to jeopardize the debate.”
The two candidates are more or less tied in the race for president.
