The situation around the suicide by hanging of Jeffrey Epstein keeps getting stranger and stranger.
The New York City chief medical examiner reached this conclusion based on the autopsy results, but many people are still not satisfied with the outcome. Some things in the case still do not add up, according to critics.
Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson said she carefully reviewed everything and she was only left with this conclusion.
Some of the disgraced financier’s lawyers said this in a statement: “We are not satisfied with the conclusions of the medical examiner. We will have a more complete response in the coming days.”
The lawyers — Martin G. Weinberg, Reid Weingarten, and Michael Miller — will launch their own investigation in Epstein’s death. Will they get some answers about the forum user who leaked the news before everyone else?
Recent reports indicate that the news of controversial multimillionaire’s death might have been leaked ahead of the official announcements by a still-unknown person, who posted on the popular Internet forum, 4chan.
The user’s initial message stated that Epstein was found dead and there were efforts to resuscitate him in vain.
The person, who shared the secrets surrounding the death of Epstein, said not to bother asking him how he obtained the information and not to send the authorities to his home.
One message read: “[D]ont ask me how I know, but Epstein died an hour ago from hanging, cardiac arrest. Screencap this.”
A few minutes later, he shared another piece of information that said: “Pt transported to Lower Manhattan ER and worked for 20 minutes and called.”
The poster concluded by: “Let’s just say I know. Don’t need a glowie coming to my crib.”
He was met with huge backlash by the community, as nobody believed his revelation, with most people merely telling him to stop trolling the forum.
However, the poster afterward shared details of the resuscitation attempts that had been performed on Epstein, painting his story in a slightly more credible light.
Authorities investigating the scenario have pointed out that the man was likely one of the first responders to the scene, given the way he was describing the case with heavy use of medical jargon. It is still not known who leaked the news and why.
If the person is caught, they will face some serious charges for leaking private information of a patient to the public. Some have pointed out that it is possible that the 4chan user is either a police officer or a firefighter.
The FDNY spokesperson Frank Dwyer spoke to BuzzFeed News and had this to say: “An investigation is a formal act which brings about a process which includes interviewing witnesses, serving notice, determining the credibility of witness statements — and that was not warranted nor did it take place here. This determination was made after a review of the incident. We looked at the information provided by [a BuzzFeed News] reporter, and we looked at our own records, and there was no match. It doesn’t match our medical records.”
In any case, it looks like the situation is being treated very seriously and an active investigation is underway to determine how the news got out and what could have been done to prevent the leak from happening.
Meanwhile, conspiracy theories continue to swirl around Epstein’s death after it was revealed that many jail guards at the high-security facility have been accused of falsifying document and refused to cooperate with the authorities.
